"Farm Stock" D21 October 13, 2022 04:00AM
The local "Farm Stock" class is unsanctioned, and the only rules are 3k RPM, open MPH which makes it a lot of fun with no whining about rules. The last couple years in this class has been dominated by a D21. The tractor is defiantly running a rotary pump, and it even appears to be a Rosa but I wont swear to it. Assuming it has a lot of work I would put it at around 400 cc more or less. On a good track it will spin out around 10-12 mph and get under the turbo around 15-17. How much power would you estimate this is making?

The rest of the class struggles to get over 8-10 mph which is made up of a couple 1256s and 1066s that are mostly stock with pumps turned up. I also talked to a guy with a 4020 390 pump, tips done, pushing low 300cc with 6030 (TO4?) turbo running 30# boost who is usually second by 20' How much power is this setup making?

So the question is what is the best bang for the buck, assuming IH will win that challenge? I don't think a 360/407 with Rosa is worth the investment. Build a 414 with Bosch 100 or just bypass attempts at penny pinching and start with a 466 truck motor?

Just save yourself the frustration and get you a good roller cam 466 and ever look back. Where are you pulling at?

I am trying to keep my location on the DL so that if I show up with a roller 466 I don't find a 40 series Detroit in an Allis!
