Any advice for a new farm stock open driver? Never ran an open class before, recently did a bunch of upgrading and wanting to try open speed stuff. 466 motor, 2800 rpm kind of class. What rpm’s does everyone come out of the hole at and when do you fully turn it loose?

Anything above second high you have to come out harder. Third with torque back probably about 3/4 throttle and slip the clutch a little depending on weight and how hard the line hooks

no one can tell you how your unit works, cam, tires, air pressure, sled, track, day, position in hook - and your own abilities and disabilities all matter. your clutch choice matters a lot, your understanding of " slip the clutch" matters more, get good shafts, close ratio gears, a good three disc clutch, then hook.

Open speed around here , is road gear or go home… Wide open, let clutch out slowly til it lights, then let r rip….
