The ATPA Launches New Massive LiquiTube Contingency Program August 14, 2023 06:12AM
The ATPA (American Tractor Pulling Association), in partnership with LiquiTube is proud to announce a massive new national contingency program that is set to redefine the landscape of competitive pulling. This groundbreaking initiative is poised to make history by offering the largest contingency program ever witnessed in the sport of pulling, extending its reach to regional and state pulling organizations across the country.

Under this program, the grand prize of $5,000 awaits as this program opens up the avenue for every class across more than 20 prestigious organizations nationwide compete for the coveted title of National LiquiTube Pulling Champion. The ATPA’s partnership from sponsors LiquiTube, RAM Trucks, Faygo, and others, further underscores ATPA’s commitment and dedication to supporting grassroots pulling.

The contingency program ushers in a dynamic structure, where a total amount of $10,000 will be paid out to top drivers during the last 5 events of the season. An additional $10,000 awaits the top 5 highest earners of contingency payouts at the end of the year. This not only adds an element of competition but also enriches the prospects for those who prove their mettle consistently over the course of the season.

The program is designed to start during the final five events of each participating pulling organization. After your particular organization’s season ends, participating drivers are strongly encouraged to continue participating in the program by competing with drivers from other participating groups. Drivers can then continue to earn additional contingency payouts to pave the way for the coveted title of National LiquiTube Champion or one of the four distinguished runners-up positions.

Reading the fine print - sounds like they require 200 competitors to sign up for the program, and in order to qualify that puller needs to spend $400 on their products. 200x$400=$80,000. And then they’re paying back 25% of that in the $20,000 prize pool. And that’s IF all criteria are met. I’m not an ATPA member so it doesn’t matter to me, but the headline had me intrigued. I guess it’s still a good thing that they’re doing, but not exactly digging deep into their pockets to make this happen. It’s simply the margin on a completely new chunk of business. Maybe it’s genius marketing? Curious to observe and see how it pans out in the end.
