Weight to front end December 05, 2023 11:50AM
So I put a belly bar on my IH. It bolts right up to the transmission housing. If I hang a 100 on it how much goes to front axle vs the rear? I haven’t got to a scale yet.

That's a tuff question. Not going down the track is one thing and when you hook to the sled is totally different. And the harder you pull more weight is transfered to the back of tractor until you pickup the front end then 100% is obviously is one the rear tires

I think you are over thinking the question. If you put front axle on scale and say you front axle weighs 3,000lb. Now move 100 from the back to the belly. Now your axle weight is 3040. 40% forwards 60% to the back. If you put it behind front tire. 80% forward and 20% back resulting in 3,080 or on the very front being 100% on axle at 3,100. This is how it has worked on my mods and just comparing to diesel. Heavy the front axle the harder it is to pick it up and keep it up.
