This is why the sleds a need load sensor on the hitch/chain and a giant display, so that they can show everyone the pound force load for each tractor in each class. This way fans can get a comparison of the different classes.

Regarding your concern about "questionable setups".... there might be some that are adding a resistor in order to lower the voltage spikes. This can be a useful tool for filtering out noise. The problem though that if you do it too much it will cause all the spikes to drop below the threshold and then you have no reading. Some clubs have a rule that having a Zero reading at the sled box will

Remember that old Sears Craftsman riding lawn mower you used to work on with a Briggs and Stratton engine? It had a big magnet on the flywheel and whenever it passed by the coil it would create a voltage. Damn, I can still feel it. That is exactly what the ISSPRO R8906 Tach Pickup is doing.... creating a voltage every time the magnet passes by the coil. You can actually see this voltage usin

You mean Price. Cost is what it takes to make it and sell it. Price is set by the seller. It's usually as much as they can extract from you. There has been a lot of that going on since Covid because sellers have found out they can get away with it.

What I would like to know, is since when did everyone get so hyper sensitive? Corporations have always done what they want and always will. It's called capitalism.

Thanks Sascha for putting this out there and offering this opportunity to us. You get it that we have limited $$$ to spend on entertainment and also have choices where to spend that money. I wish others would see that instead of trying to rip us off for full ticket prices just to watch a show when we're a 1000 miles away and would never otherwise consider it. Yours is a Win-Win.

Check out the Dash/Data Logger from Back40 Engineering. You won't find a simpler and more inexpensive data logger. It displays and records your data on an Android tablet so you can see it immediately after your pass. Easy to customize and they are always updating the app with cool features.

What a nasty filthy thing to be associated with our sport. I feel like I'm being used. Please don't tell me that's OK because it isn't!

For sure!. $40 and $45 for tickets (live or broadcast) will never grow the sport.
Revenue model A): 1000 viewers @ $40 = $40k. It's easy and there are 1000 people that will do it.
Revenue model 10,000 viewers @ $10 = $100k. This is more work, but it would make more money and it would help grow the sport.

The material is actually flowing under tension caused by centrifugal force and opening up voids that eventually lead to cracks. Failure is a factor of load (RPM) and cycles. There is no magic number because each foundry pour is different and each loading and cycle time is different. Make sure you're using a steel flywheel. Hopefully, the class rules require it. It's not pretty when the stock cast iron ones fly apart.
