Another tractor that was a crowd pleaser was Dennis Lucas WD-45 Allis. He and Harold Volland (Oliver 88) were strong runners.
Dave Chrisman ran an Allis 180 for several years. It sold to someone out west. A few years ago Ron Mitchell found it and brought is back to Indiana. It is now running on alcohol. I think he pulls mainly with PPL. Ron grew up with Dave's boys.

Possibility that you had an injector stick washing down a cylinder? How is blowby? A few years were known for that. A lot would depend on the overall condition of the rest of the truck but if it was mine, I would rebuild what I have. Use new Bosch injectors, not reman. Also, install aftermarket lift pump/filters to catch any water or trash in the fuel. If you get a used engine you might end up wi

You could go to and call the number listed there. Explain the situation to them. This is Dennis Anderson's project. The Monster Jam family is also a big supporter of St. Jude Hospital. Those drivers always go out of their way to cater to the children so it is worth a try.

Dave Chrisman died Sunday December 13. He lived at Edinburgh, Indiana. Back several years ago he pulled an Allis 180 in NTPA and Hoosier Tractor Pullers, That same tractor is now pulled by Ron Mitchell.
Because of the Covid-19, a private service will be held.

Best answer is send a detailed email to your state DOT office and ask for a written reply. (I got a phone call follow up but I told them my hearing was not real clear at the moment so I got a full email from them) Then print this out and carry it with you. If you tell an officer you got your information from an internet web site it probably won't fly.

I can remember one Super Pull when Bruce Hutcherson from Vevay, Indiana (Makin Bacon) blew a spark plug out of the right side engine. It stuck in the plywood which was 1 row in front of us. At most pulls he had a unique way of getting the tractor to hook up. He would hammer it hard right off the line and the front would head for the sky. He would let off for just a second until the front tires we

Who makes a bed plate, stiffener plate, girdle, or bridge plate, whatever you want to call it, to stiffen the lower end and tie the main studs into? Gas or diesel. I would like to run a late 310 diesel, slightly oversize cubes, with a turbo without blowing the bottom off. Billet rods are in order.

What is the pulling order? I saw on the web site which classes run which session but I am looking at which class follows which.
This is a good pull to attend. Not as cold as Gordyville.

I talked with someone at the contact number listed on their web site about this and they said if I got pictures or drawings of what I wanted on the helmet they can do it for me. This way they have control over what type chemicals are used as some will damage the helmet structure. New helmet is on order, fully decorated.

Have you talked with each helmet manufacture rep? Sorry, I did and this is the answer I got. Even looking at the owner's manual for my current helmet (Simpson) it clearly states stickers, paint other add-ons void the warranty. That is all I have to go on. There may be other manufacturers I have not checked with but I checked all the more popular SFI and SNELL rated ones to pass the rules for

Check with the helmet manufacturer before you do that. I talked with every brand at the PRI show in Indy and they all said any paint, decals, wrap, anything added to it after it leaves their door voids the warranty. I would hope we never have to use the warranty but they are leaving a way out for themselves to avoid liability.

I have doctor appointments and the weather is a little cold at the pull so I had to miss it this year. And we have an anniversary party Friday evening and Saturday. Hoping someone would have results posted in real time (or almost real time). I started my diesel pickup today and stood by the exhaust to get my fix of diesel fumes.
Can't wait for Murfreesboro. Hope I will be feeling better a

I have taken my wife and daughter in the past and was covered in beer being spilled by overly intoxicated "pulling fans" so we no longer attend the pulls. We do go at least 2 days for the farm machinery show. I would be in for live streaming so we can watch that caliber tractors.
What is the Gordyville streaming cost? I attend that in person so I do not participate in the streaming there.

I drove through Greensburg today and the highway 46 over I-74 has construction and down to 1 lane each way but is passable even for a semi. We made the turn from Interstate westbound to highway 46 southbound with a 50' trailer with no problems. So far, weather looks good for Monday.

What is your favorite gloves for pulling? Must be SFI approved. Have you tried a brand and dissatisfied with the fit or quality? Rules call for SFI 3.2A/1. I am set with jacket and pants. I found both in SFI 3.2A/5 that were special ordered and the driver ate too much since. Now, just needing good gloves.

I would try an ultrasonic cleaner. Many years ago, we cleaned some pretty nasty stuff at work using one. Check with a good diesel injection repair shop and see if they have one.
Another option might be a soda blaster or one that uses dry ice.

I heard yesterday that we lost another puller. Harold Volland from Columbus, Indiana died Sunday afternoon. He was 82 years old. He was very active in pulling from 1969 to 1989, starting with county fair pulls and progressing to NTPA, Indy Super Pull, and the Southern Circuit Champion. Harold pulled an Oliver 88 along with team mate Dennis Lucas pulling an Allis Chalmers.
