I am looking for a shop that can make a faster 7th gear for my Ford 9000.
I already have Atlas Half-Gears and need a faster ratio.
I have already talked to two shops that make them but I can't actually get them due to availability (maybe?).

Half Gears are pretty common. I got mine from Atlas.
What speed are you looking to run?

It's 11,000 and I am not sure how much "cheaper" it is if you actually want to do well. It is a good group of guys though.

If it's like the reverse rotation pumps (pump cams) that I've dealt with, swap lines 2-3 and 4-5.

I definitely will not be making another drive like that for a pull this year. Maybe if it is within an hour or so of home I'll risk it, but it just isn't worth it right now. I'm just glad I left the tractor at home or I would have been more upset that I wasted 3 times as much fuel and didn't get in.

I drove 4 hrs and was there over 2 and half hours early (3:21), but gates did not open until 4 (according to the flyers) so we went to get something to eat, and when we came back just a short bit later, the whole town was backed up and we waited in line for 2 and a half hours before the police started telling everyone that they were at capacity and no one else would be allowed into the pull. You can make whatever you want for yourself, even if it is copyrighted. You get into trouble when you start trying to sell items that have copyrighted material.

I think it's asking a lot of people to build tractors for a class that is not offered anywhere else in the US and may only last one year. That is a lot of expense to put into something that may not be worth a nickle the next year because the class fell through and there are no similar classes anywhere else, so the the tractor isn't worth much when sold.
It seems that too many organi

I think it was discussed on here a while back, but you want to find how many turns of the input is equal to one turn of the output (engine to axle) .
You figure each step individually and then multiply them together to get the final ratio.
Example:
19/44 constant mesh gears (44/19=2.3157894736842105263157894736842)
tranny gears of 40/23 (23/40=.575)
pinion gear of 19 ring gear of 50

Which pump does it have? At least 3 different pumps where used stock on those engines and all three have an internal advance to the best of my knowledge..
I have seen them with a Bosch BR, CR and even a VE pump stock and then stanadyne pumps aftermarket.

The 782 cotton picker had that engine. You should be able to pick up one for cheap.

I would also have to recommend Tom's Agridiesel as well. The powermax engine kits are quality parts. I have yet to receive anything lacking in quality from them and I have sold a lot of their kits. On the other hand I have gotten some shoddy TISCO kits, For instance, piston rings that will break when you are trying to put them on the pistons, and yes I am using actual piston ring installers

It's a wasted spark set up, it fires opposing cylinders at the same time due to the design of the controller. It fires one on compression stroke and the other on exhaust at the same time. It is designed this way to make the system cheaper to build (also to limit dwell time without a more sophisticated controller) and is how a lot of vehicles are (ones that don't have individual coil on

It depends on the rules you have to follow and if you can run forced induction or you have to run na. If you can't run alcohol and you are limited to RPMs for an antique class (in a 560/460 2600rpms) then you are probably looking at around 200-225 flywheel hp if it is set up right. Some people may claim more and some may claim less, but that is a rough estimate with a good cam, 10.5:1 compre

Actually, the cheapest route for ignition is probably mounting a GM 6 cylinder HEI distributor to the engine. These can be had for cheap and are great for most setups.

Where would you put the distributor at? Does the cam have the gear to drive that?
If you want to use a distributor, you could mount it directly in place of the injection pump (if you have access to a mill and lathe) or you can mount it to the front cover and drive it off the front of the cam gear. If you want to go distributor-less , then you just mount a trigger wheel to the c

This is the general idea:
Ignition system (distributor or distributor less) and spark plugs in place of the injectors
Fuel system (carb, hilborn or EFI: depending on the rules) and manifold to match whichever setup you are running
Lowered compression (custom pistons or milled down stock pistons)
preferably a cam to make your new setup

Mine has 11mm pump, GT3076 turbo, 5x20 injectors (just what I had), bigger lines, genesis head, .030 over 401, and It runs 7th gear easily, 8th at times, I just don't have the extra time to really get it dialed in because other hobbies. In most farm stock classes now, if you can't run road gear, you aren't going to be in the top 10 (at least around here, and in a class with several

The stock head will really limit the potential of the engine. To run in the class and be even reasonably competitive, you are going to need a head, injection pump, injectors, lines and a decent turbo.
