Interesting the one supporting NOT allowing components, broke a rear weld on wheel hub at Bowling Green.
Luckily the gussets and brake caliper kept the hub on to get the tractor off the track.
Hey, it surprised us, but 31 years they just got tired lol. I'd like to see someone else try that with as much success as we had. Not saying we will do that for the future, but its st

It isn't like a lot of guys are sitting. if you look across SS and ntpa regional and even outlaws, the numbers are great. 22 light pros in hillsboro. even with engine breakage ntpa regionals average 8-10 depending on location. I'm not sure the guys you state are sitting because of no component, otherwise sitting because of no parts still. some still haven't been out this year becau

I tell you who is getting left behind is the fans of Outlaws! Last night at Monnett there was maybe 20 hooks in 5 or 6 classes. Over half in one class. At least NTPA had an out 50 hooks in 5 top tier classes. My last time going to Outlaws, all hype, no show!
Especially when Benson is the farthest for some to travel. 16-18 hrs for some to get there

I am also shocked nothing started til now. I do have to say NTPA has loaded up more on the schedule. For example Fort Recovery adding a 3rd session. Region pulls adding more classes. Also GN light modified getting a few hooks like benson, farley, tomah, rockwell,BG. I am curious on who plans on running this class.

I agree that splitting the classes would be better. The issue is there aren't enough tractors to run only a "Light Pro" or "Super Farm" class. I believe that as time goes on numbers will get worse and worse.
This only depends on the region you live in. The midwest is not short on 4.1s and super farms. The ohio/michigan/Pennsylvania area is full of light pros.

Outstanding decision. ...................... If a cast rear end tractor class exceeds 2000 HP is should have the component option. Thats just a safety option,.. plus add on the ease of maintenance aspect,.. and it's a win win!!
2000? Guess super farm isn't far from component then if you say that. Might as well make every class component if that's the threshold

I'll wait and go to the ppl pull. Get to watch whoever wants to pull.
The people at this event want to pull. The initial invites that can't make it want to pull at this event but can't because of their job/farming/parts. People want to pull at this event

Doug is one of the best DSS pullers out there right now. He sticks mainly with the Outlaws in the DSS class but also ran events like the pullers championship. There he swept the event and beat guys that have been doing this forever and have championships under their belt. Doug is the real deal and so is Scrappy. Doug built the best setup for his tractor

DSS is one of the worst classes in pulling, still full of the same bunch of cry babies that got the classes separated in the first place. I can not figure out why any promoter would book DSS so the same 6-8 IH's show up that have for the last 30 years. Should they put the classes back together? Yes! Will they? probably not and I hope DSS dies a slow, pitiful death.

If they don't combine the DSS & heavy alkys, both classes will die.
You are correct, but a number of DSS pullers and fans simply do not want to open their eyes to that ultimate reality.
So even though guys are still building dss and uss today the classes are dying, yeah right. The average number of dss at a hook last season was 7-10 and same for the uss.

Jason has grown the sport of truck and tractor pulling more than anyone. He is putting people in the seats and exposing the sport more than anyone in the country. I don't blame him one bit for what he is doing for the sport, even if he is making something from it.

Yes having consistent content and videos is a positive, but also through promotions and ads and parents/friends convincing others to attend these events. Persuasion from others also pays dividends into this

Justin,
Thanks for sharing the info. Glad PPL got this right. Hopefully the NTPA follows suit.
Hopefully they will, then it will give full clarity and no questions.

Even though it is not the most universally liked rule, isn't it better that they are enforcing some rules? I mean when was the last time they enforced any rule like this? Maybe it's just my thinking but pulling actually being fair sounds better than not.

The principal was a good idea but the 4.1 class is a joke. Nobody puts pulling out there on Social media and burns more fuel going to promote the sport than Jason Schultz. If he is a true ambassador of the sport he shouldn't be a automatic bid. No first place at any sort of big pull and basically a field filler at most pulls. Cox's hickory hooker should be invited or

We need component chassis in every class before someone gets killed, these run away wheels are getting bad....OH YA...wait....nevermind
I'm sorry man but no we do not. Things like this happen in every class. Wheels have fallen off of component tractors, ag tractors and all in between. Stuff like this happens overtime.

This list was based off of the NTPA and PPL light super stocks and outlaw ULSS since they have the same rules. We take into consideration how many wins they have and who they won against. We also take into fact that some break. Some is opinion based, some Is numbers. Hopefully we get more feedback from everyone on these lists, because they are fun!
