Stock 3 x 3.4 HX60's run just fine on a 466 even a 3000rpm tractor with no cooler. The Columbus and Hart 60's are harder to turn but definitely offer more top end punch if you run unlimited RPM's.

An Aprill 11 rules meeting leaves less than a month till the first pull. Even now if the rules are changed makes it no way to be ready for the start of season. The fair thing to me since this is after the fact would be to leave the rules alone this year and see how it pans out and if during the season it turns out that 24V is some huge advantage then adjust weight or rpm's to even things ou

I'm surprised at all the childish things that have been said on here and yes Brian Block or KTA a case has a longer rod than deer but IH is longer too .If anyone wants to talk civil about this subject they can call me at 502-817-6981 or I will give my address for a meeting. Brian you sure want to keep it stirred up, and people do

I doubt on a 3000rpm limited turbo a 4v head would be much advantage over a 2v. If it was unlimited turbo maybe but then again you only have a limited displacment engine to turn a bigger turbo so you would probably end up with a screamer with no lug, just like Teddy said. Banning things based off of being and avantage isn't fair. In that case all the Deere guys should bitch because the IH an

Valves and all!! It is not expensive and it isn't hard so that is no excuse.

Here you go, brand new I can't guarantee more power though as since it hasn't been down the track how can it be known if it is an advantage or not? My suggestion is to spend your money to build it and then let your fellow pullers decide you can't because they are scared of what might happen before you even make your first pass. Honestly it is unlikely to make much power difference

I believe there are already superfarms running 4V heads. Neither PPL or NTPA forbid them as long as they are a stock head, just checked PPL rules but my 2012 NTPA rulebook doesn't disallow them either.

Wrong, 4 valve heads are allowed on most of the tractor classes in Europe. They can be used in Prostock, Superstock, and Farm stock provided they are a factory head and 4V is even mentioned as allowed in the ETPC rules. I know several years ago the Valtra pros were running 4 valve heads but they probably run some billet now. As for cost that is bogus a 4v head doesn't cost anymore at the bo

I have seen a true 2.5 box stock s400 do well in the 900's flywheel hp. I have seen tricked out 2.5 billet wheel clipped chargers over 1100hp. Keep in mind all trucks use intercoolers and other technology of the last twenty years so they make more hp with less turbo than the tractors do and they aren't restricted to a 3" turbine outlet.

Still legal per BOB rules as of today? If it is true that is pretty dirty to change the rules after somebody already starts building one and has invested countless hours and thousands of dollars to try something different just because other pullers are afraid of what might could happen. To change already posted rules because of fear when things could just as easily run bad as they could run good

A hard track with light weights like 14000lb and the duals will hurt more than they help, now on a loose track it would probably be another story.

The 6466, 6076, and 6081 tappets are almost all the same thing. There is a slight height diffrence going from small cam 466 to 6076 but otherwise the tappets are the same. I have made many sets of tool steel heat treated tappets and have had no wear issues or breakage and have run them both on billet 8620 cams and cast reground cams with no problems going back 10 years now. Not true. Got a neighbor with a 4010 that is within the first hundred tractors and it had Deere numbers and JDFW markings. Back in those days Waterloo was a premier casting facility and they did pretty much everything in house. I also doubt IH loaned Deere any money in 1960, for one thing that would have been too late as the tractors were already built by then, besides the New generation were kep

You will need 6076 tappets to run a 6076 profile cam, then if you use actual 6076 tappets they are too short so you would need custom pushrods. You would be best off in the long run to just put a 6076 motor in as it has MANY more improvments over the 6466.

If you blow a hose off a lot of times it will bend the shaft. I don't know what exact wheels you are running but most S400's and HX60s are about the same size which would be pretty self defeating on a set of compounds.

Drop in power isn't necessarily a bad thing. We run a 2.5 class here that is no billet wheels wheel must be true 2.5 factory wheel or smaller and no altered or custom cast compressor housings. Clipped wheels, bushings, modified grooves it is all forbidden. We have been having good numbers as it is an affordable class and it rarely has any breakage as they only make around 800-900hp. The cl

We have a similar problem here. Another organization adopted rules from our existing class problem is they don't check anything except if the plug will go in the bore or not, so there are a lot of illegal turbos being run with features like what you describe. Then those guys come to one of our pulls and bitch that their turbo is legal because the other org didn't disqualify them over it

If your stall speed is very high you will have a very hard time getting the torque converter lock up clutches to last. The shaft speed diffrence at full power can often times be over 4-1 and when you try to make them match it puts a lot of wear and tear on the clutches since it is occuring at full power vs partial power on a typical manual transmission launch. If you run a tight enough stall spee

It is not difficult at all to build a common rail system that can outflow and do it in less degrees of crank travel than any sigma style pump. The limiting factor is how fast the injectors can respond, some of the older style injectors can't cycle much faster than 4500rpm effectively. The top notch Piezo ones like used in the Audii R10 tdi can work effectively at the rpms that diesels pull

The diesel truck classes have had successful electronic motors running for over 15 years now. Tractor pullers tend to be much more backwards and don't want to embrace technology, after all intercoolers are still a big no no for many classes even though they save parts, make more power and have been around commonly on farm tractors for almost 50 years. They would rather spend $6000-10000 on

Actually I believe the high range pinion tends to fail first, then when it binds up from the broken teeth it twists the input shaft off. I have seen high pinions wrecked without the input being broke, but have not seen the input broke without high pinion being gone too.

My most recent post is correct, that ratio from a year ago was before I found out they had different tooth count r&p. Forget the industrial finals they will just end up wrecking your trans. Build more power and just run road, tons of 6030 farm stocks run road gear.

High pinion and counter and thus the range gear are the same tooth counts for all big frame Deere's. in this case the final would be different because of different R&P counts, but transmission ratios would be the same.

THE 6030 is a little diffrent tooth count. a 5010 and 5020 run a 36t-26t gear combo.722 overdrive for 8th and a 6030 runs a 49t-35t gear combo .714 overdrive. also I baelieve a 5010 and 5020 run an11/58 Ring and pinion 5.272 and the 6030 runs a 11/54 ring and pinion for 4.909
so a 5020 stock 8th comes out 23.2 and the 6030 stock 8th is 21.32
