These guys are shooting you square. I paid for 2 of the three speeds before I ever purchased one. Very little machine work and easy enough any machine shop should be able to do it for you. your other option is to put a 4020 ring gear and pinion in it....lots of machine work, takes a really good machine shop that is willing to mess with you...when you are done you still have all the weak points

I have a 8130 JD hood and would like to remove a significant portion of the black support on the inside. i think it must be partially adhered with adhesive of some type. going to put some heat on it an see if it comes loose but open to ideas. thanks, dcole@centurytel.net

We went in about half way through the first journal. we left a stub shaft sticking out and put a bearing for an alternator and welded a support to the front cover. this was about 15 years ago shortly after we did this we went to a billet cam.

Just my opinion, based on my peresonal experience, a girdle is pretty cheap insurance. i had no problems at 5000 rpm or less, but 5400 or more and i had considerable problems. ran 2 chargers 130 psi boost. put a girdle and fluid dampener on and ran same bearings for 3 years, no chafing on main caps.
