That is what I was suggesting in the previous thread and I believe it would work ,nobody wanted roll cages years ago either but look at the lives they’ve saved just in the past few years

We have all had some time now to think about a solution to limit parts being thrown, and we might have reached the limitations and effectiveness of cables to contain these events. As an additional means of maybe containing the parts better, what if we had 2 pieces of moly tubing bent into a “u” encapsulating the top of the engine. Have it bolted with gussets and good fasteners solid to

How about a tubular cage built around the motor similar to the cage bolted to the frame, similar to a tire cage
This could have some flexibility built into it for each specific application and could still look good and be able to work on the motor to a point and wouldn’t hold heat in and would allow for fire extinguishing if necessary
Maybe add another 100# to the class

Yes that is a terrible thing and I’m sure it was totally unexpected but that’s the point we’re trying to make , this has become to much of a regular thing and needs to be addressed

But once the sport knows there’s an issue such as this it becomes known negligence not just a freak first time thing
Are you going to tell me that if you know a block is going to detonate near where you will be setting with YOUR FAMILY that you will still set there? Probably not.

When does this crazy race for HP ever end. When do we figure out that this lust for more and more HP hurts the sport. Every time the HP goes up in certain classes the sled operator just loads in another weight and we still go 320 feet and the speed down the track in no higher than before. I'm even going to say that when we keep adding HP (weight in the sled) we are in fact d

This will put an end to all the whining and bickering
Set up a wheel dyno next to the scales and whoever makes the most horsepower with the least weight wins you won’t even have to hook to the sled and get it dirty
Y’all better go on a diet though because that extra 10# you’re carrying around might cost you a blue ribbon
I can see it now billet aluminum everything
Just go to 6500# nationw

I think this topic got off track I know for myself my comment was directed towards the constant talking about the podium finishes not so much the word itself
I think both series do a good job with their shows and I appreciate being able to watch them but sometimes less is more
Pulling is not just a visual but also it’s audio and I personally wish there was less talking during the pull I like
