Nick, your adapter and hub setup sounds great. I,ve had thoughts of switching to a P, but haven't because of the block machining or changing to a P block. Is this something you would consider making for someone else? If so, I would be interested. PM me if you would like to discuss this further. Thanks, Jerry.

Sounds good J&R, I'd rather key the gears also. I'll get in touch with you soon, who do I need to talk to when I do? Thanks for all your advice.

Not trying to discourage you in any way about building up your tractor, but those Mexican 4455's have become kinda collectable. I have seen them bring some outrageous prices. They do make good hot farm tractors though!
I didn't know that. We got a pretty good deal on ours, but its kinda past the point of no return now. They definitely do make good hot farm tractors, we

Which would you recommend J&R, welding or keying the new gear? Also what actually becomes the new speed with the shifter on the console, the 2nd or 5th spot? The 8th gear keying sounds like a great idea, just in case. Do you make these gears, or would you be able to recommend someone reputable that does?

No I don't have one yet, wanted to get my ducks in a row before I got one. I definitely want to do that now and from what I understand you can put them in the 2nd or 5th gear spot. Is that correct?

For jd43, the knowledge I have of these tractors I've picked up along the way and may not be totally accurate, but from what I understand, there was a certain amount of these tractors that didn't get sold in Mexico for whatever reason and were shipped to various dealers in the US. You could find one about anywhere I guess, if you looked around long enough.

The serial number of our tractor is PO4455X008397, judging by the serial number breaks in our parts book, this is a later model. If I would've looked in the parts book before I started asking questions, I would've known the answer! LOL. It has 3 pinions and they are needled. Thank you for the reply and info J&R. Would you happen to know about the oil pan and sump?

Thanks KTA. Would the cross be an unnecessary expense and undertaking? I ask because we'll almost be there when we do the trans. Also which aluminum oil pan will work on the 7.6L engine in that tractor and will the oil sump need to be changed to make it work?

Will the stock trans in a Mexican 4455 hold up with a 7.5 gear at 600 HP, give or take a little, running 10-11,000 LB classes, or should I wait and go with a 3 or 5 speed trans setup? I have no plans at all to move up into different classes in the future. Also should I be thinking about a needle bearing cross at this point? Thanks for any and all input and advice.

Judging by all the past topics and posts you've had on here lately, you are waaaaaaaaaaayy over thinking this whole thing. Sounds to me that you want a small block Deere. Find a 4430 with a syncro trans, put a 7.6L in it with some good fuel and air (according to your local rules of course), make your clutch a 4 disk, and just like that, your blowin smoke and going fast with a pretty reliable

I failed to mention that there are no classes like this in our area, in fact, there really aren't any classes with an area wide uniform set of rules. They vary widely from pull to pull and its difficult to build a tractor to any specifics, you just kinda have to fit in where you can.

I was thinking more entry level than that. Lol. Kinda thought a 10500, 3000 rpm, 466, p pump, 2.8 charger class would be fun, and ''affordable" in the grand scheme of things. Seems to me that a class of color would be easy to achieve, 451 Case, 456 Ford, 426 Allis, don't know much about Massey's and Olivers/ Molines/ Whites, I'm guessing they have something that would be

I've only seen those on light antiques. I'm not doubting their craftsmanship, but those look like a disaster waiting to happen with some power and weight on them. Get ahold of your local Unverferth dealer, you can still get 9 bolt centers from them.

I used a handheld electric bandsaw and cut a 1/4" pie shaped sliver off the bottom of the mounting surface of the water manifold to tilt it, then used those pieces on top like a washer so the bolts have a flat surface to tighten down on. Have'nt had any leaks and that made enough clearance for a 2.8 GT-42.

I have a 500cc 3000rpm A-Pump from Diesel Performance Engineering in MO. I bought it new from them, put 3 hooks on it and it started missing, number 5 plunger was barely making any fuel. Sent pump back to them, they said the adjustment in that delivery valve was a ''little off". They got it back to me in a timely fashion, put it on and it ran fine for 7 more hooks, then last night star

My electric pump went haywire last weekend and its time to upgrade to a mechanical drive pump. I was looking things over and noticed the belts pass almost in the middle of the pump gear cover. Do I need to reconfigure the belt routing to clear the pump, or will one fit as is? Also, will I need to get longer pump gear bolts to attach the coupler?

Does anyone know if there are any tuners, exhaust systems, cold air intakes etc, available for 2013 Jetta TDI's? I know the tuners are getting scarce for new diesels in general, but would like to get a little soot on the back bumper if possible. LOL!

Don't know about those "fancy hoses", lol, but I cut the ends off of the factory drain tube and used those and slipped 3/4" heat resistant rubber hose over them and clamped it, no problems. I'm running the same setup, GT42 on a 3,000 RPM SBJD.
