That is incorrect and misleading information and the water is test when needed. PPL Western Series and Outlaws have a good thing going with their Spec Water and Fuel. Both can also be easily inspected on the spot in short order if needed and if you ask any competitor that run those associations you'll find they have been pleased with this decision implemented several years ago.

All the proper machining for spacers is 375. That includes surfacing pan rails, surfacing main saddles, surfacing both sides of the main caps and surfacing the spacer to set girdle height. When we are done with a job all caps and spacers are the exact same thickness. Billet Caps are 1800 and still require the 375 to prep to your block and set girdle height.
