I find it interesting how full the weight box on the sled is and how slow the weight box moves up the rails.

Look at the past person:
I should probably ignore your comments but I guess I'll defend myself and my team. My team has worked hard to get where we are and we plan to continue to improve. My team does not owe our points championship to the club directors. In the past the club directors had nothing to do with the fact that other family obligations kept us from attending the first 6 p

Results from the 2017 NYTPA SuperStock Class
We provided 20 events, 17 were won by diesel superstocks, 3 were won by alcohol powered tractors. No events were won by a pro stock tractor.
Of those 20 events, there were 9 different winning drivers on 8 different tractors.
Largest number of competing diesel tractors at an event=12, the season average was 7.

I would think the numbers in the super stock class has more to do with breakage, personal finances, geography, and pullers' other commitments in life than it does the diesel/alcohol split. Last year I believe the split came into play at 5 events, the split affects both placing at the event and also points, however, when you look at the season total in points, of the top 14 tractors, 5 tract

NY Fan, what do you dislike about the show? Some specific examples would provide the club feedback on what to work on improving. Your comment does not encourage others to attend our pulls or help tractor pulling in NY in any way.
In my opinion as a puller and a fan, NYTPA has some of the strongest running tractors as any state club in the country, not all, but some. The shows start on time

I've been following this topic and also the NASCAR conversation. I am a relatively small town, high school Technology Teacher and also the school district Athletic Director. I find these concerns that we are having as a pulling community are much the same as some of the athletic concerns that are facing not only our school district but many schools across the country. How do we get people

To the poster above who only wants to pay the top 3 tractors.....As the owner of what I consider a respectable pulling tractor but not a top contender in my class I agree that only paying out 10 places is going to limit the number of tractors that show up for an event. Do I want to be paid for losing? No, I want to be paid for helping put on the show that paying fans in the stands came to see.

The competition director set the full pull distance at 325'. So the tractor that went 358' (Little More Patience) and the tractor that went 326' (Determination) both qualified for a pull off. The Little More Patience tractor chose not to come back for the pull off while the Determination tractor came back and pulled a measureable distance for the win.

It's a testament to the safety of our sport when those kind of explosions can occur within the close proximity of drivers, officials and fans and no one gets hurt. Kudos to that.

Yes, that's my tractor, it is for sale. I just updated the ad on the for sale page here. My engine was built by Luke Miller who owns and operates a company in Arthur, Illinois, called 300+ Performance. He is also the builder of Kuhn's Trailblazer tractor and works with Carlton Cope on v-8 Perkins engine technology. When I took my engine out there to Luke's shop 3 years ago to be

I have a 2805 Pro Stock for sale, not sure what level you are looking to get into. In my opinion it's cheaper to buy one than build one. Where are you located? There are only a few of us scattered across the country running a Massey.

I use a low pressure sending unit like you would use that comes on for low oil pressure. I have it plumbed into the water injection manifold. When the tractor is running but not pulling, this light is on. When I'm on the starting line accelerating, I watch to make sure the light goes out. As soon as I build enough boost for the Simpson valve to open the water pressure in the manifold turns t

No, the injectors are not sheilded, but they are held in with custom billet hold downs and tethered by a rigid stainless injector line.

I also run a Massey with the V-8 Perkins, mine has complete side sheilds but 3 years ago I broke a rod in the middle of a pass. The rod put a hole in both sides of the block but none of the pieces impacted the side sheilds enough to leave a mark, they head for the ground just by the design of the block. As was stated above, the only thing exposed on Warpath is the heads and headers, there are s

I agree with you Clinton, we put $100,000 into a tractor to be competitive at the state level here in NY where on any given night 20 tractors show up and most will go home with less money than they spend on fuel in the hauler. I love the sport, but the pay-out to the pullers compared to the money being dumped into the tractors is crazy. Maybe the promoters and fairs can't afford any more,

If you were to go with the v-8, you really need to do your homework on the crankshaft, some stock ones are better than others. If you were to go with the Sisu, you should know that the Batliner brothers are very, very smart men and very good machinists. The Sisu doesn't just bolt right up to your 1155 rearend, Batliners have a "one of" billet bellhousing that they created, it is quite the

I bought Batliner's v-8 two years ago, put a 4.4 charger on it and put it in Crutchfield's original Brutal Force chassis that I purchased from Marty Harrell (Pure Country in North Carolina) and made a few passes the past 2 summers. The problem with the perkins v-8 in the superfarm as stated already is the crankshaft which has a large oil hole in the rear main journal area, too much to

Having had a couple kids grow up around tractor pulling, I would recommend ear muffs up until at least age 10, then you can go to ear plugs. My kids preferred the ear muffs when they were younger and didn't fuss with them.
