Re: Hot Farm is changing - 1 year ago
QuoteSuper farm puller I'm sure glad Brett Hearne, Dale Earnhardt ,Jeff Gordon didn't stay in street stock cars . We would have never known who they were ..or what they stood for in motorsports. They went from the bottom to the top level in motorsports. They certainly didn't start out with money The problem with your logic... the top level in other motorsport makes you money (mby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: What's so special? - 1 year ago
Quote"limit" is key Jake, where does it say a puller cannot do as you suggest? This is the quote I was referring to: QuoteThe Original Michael 2. Super Farm, Light Pro Stock, and Limited Pro Stock divisions cannot enter the new RN Heavy Pro Stock 5.0 class. Entering of stated vehicles in divisions other than RN Heavy Pro Stock 5.0 as permitted by 2023 NTPA Pulling rules is still allowed. Wby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: Hot Farm is changing - 1 year ago
I've been beating the drum for restrictor tubes for a few decades. I'm not sure why, but for some reason many pullers in the US seem to hate the idea. To me it seems like the easiest and cheapest way to level any playing field while still allowing guys to run whatever turbocharger they want.by Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: WPI. over stepping their boundaries again - 1 year ago
The problem is the rule doesn't allow pullers the option of even switching turbos. If a 4.1 puller or a Light Pro puller wanted to quickly swap to the box charger and run in the class they still can't. To me that's complete and utter garbage.by Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: Hot Farm is changing - 1 year ago
Two questions (technically four for you sticklers out there): 1. What if you're a terrible(or below average) Hot Farm puller? What if you've been in the class for a while but still don't win, should you still be forced to move up? 2. What if your budget doesn't allow you to move up? What if the next step up in your area is Super Farm? Your 466 or 510 probably won'tby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
NFMS Photos - 1 year ago
I posted the photos from Louisville a few weeks ago but forgot to put a notification here! The photos are just as they came off the camera (and honestly I haven't even had a chance to look at them yet myself, life has been really busy lately) I did have a camera issue on Wednesday night so I didn't get the truck class (sorry about that). Re: Fendt Prostock - 1 year ago
I know the early Claas came with Deere motors (Claas bought Renault who didn't make very good tractors and Claas wanted a reliable powerplant for their new line of tractors so Deere was a perfect choice). Fendt has been around for a very, very long time but was purchased by Agco back in the late 90's and I don't think they had Deere power, I think it has been MAN for a while now bby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: Fendt Prostock - 1 year ago
From the video I saw of it warming up is was a non-crossflow head so I assumed it was a billet Lemke small block Deere. It's a nice looking tractor.by Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: Future of the modified class (rule idea for the future) - 1 year ago
QuoteFan 2 I have been to very few pulls in 54 years where any class "top to bottom" puts on a good show. That makes me sad for you. I'll make a positive example of the class that gets the most grief... Super Farm... they almost always put on an excellent show. Distances are always really, really, really close. They always deliver in tight competition... not the most powerful by any meanby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: nfms announcer - 1 year ago
Agree, I think she's great and a perfect part of the team. Those three work so well together, even though I couldn't hear half of what was said (the closed captioning was great...a truly awesome addition, though clearly a band-aid for the poor sound/echo) and you could tell they didn't talk over each other. They had good dialog and they all seemed to work really well together...by Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: Future of the modified class (rule idea for the future) - 1 year ago
I was actually planning on writing about the Mod class but family time after being away came first. Glad you got the conversation started. After watching the Mod class at the NFMS this year I really don't think there's a need for more power. The show was great and the competition was awesome. There was an amazing lineup of tractors and the horsepower was more than enough. Personaby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: PPL Ownership - 1 year ago
Found this... edited it down to the relevant info to respect their privacy: This should end any speculation. Looking forward to the 2023 PPL season and I wish them success. PPL has been a huge asset to the sport and I hope that trend continues for a long time. I don't know if this move gives John and Kristi anymore freedom, but they have the added responsibility of ownership now and tby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
Re: PPL Ownership - 1 year ago
I didn't get a chance to talk with John or Kristi in Louisville (I barely saw either of them) and I don't have any inside info but I'd guess that the ownership transaction is still in process. I'd expect at some point we'll get word that John and Kristi are the official owners. How it's structured will be interesting, being majority woman owned might open doors soby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum

Wow, first, let me say thanks. I can count the number of times someone has apologized on this page on one hand. Thanks again. Personally I think she does a good job from the times I've heard her but as I said, I didn't get to hear much of the announcing at the pull because of the terrible sound in Freedom Hall. Re: NFMS 2024 sled - 1 year ago
Quote? Be hard to do without a sled wouldn’t it? I'm assuming maybe you're new to the sport. Vaughn Bauer runs an builds the Ironman sleds from Bauer Built Manufacturing out of Paton, Iowa. He's operated and provided the sled for the NFMS for years. Besides the NFMS he and his sleds also do Bowling Green, Ohio and many of the other biggest pulls throughout the US in the summerby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum

Re: Combine the classes??? - 1 year ago
We should clearly split the classes... or 3 out of five diesels broke on the line (sometimes it happens) Of the two who made passes, both should have made the finals but a measuring inconsistency keep the Hunts out.by Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum

Define "hitting the sand". Front wheels touching? Weight bracket or weights just touching? What if someone has their weights mounted high and someone else has the weights mounted low? What if the front of the sand pile sticks out further in some spots?by Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum

I believe it to mean that you answer to a higher power. That despite being the leader of the free world you're still beholden to something much bigger than yourself. With that much power it's difficult to stay grounded and having a true belief in a higher power should be a constant reminder that your not omnipotent. Re: New non-tractor class, and safety issue - 1 year ago
If this was the first mini to ever break free of the sled that would be one thing, unfortunately this isn't the first mini to break loose. Nobody is saying to that we can eliminate ALL risk. That's a dumb argument and it's not an argument that ANYONE is making. It's simply a question of: 1.) eliminating risk as we see concerns that arise repeatedly... or 2.) eliminating rby Jake Morgan - Pulling Forum
