I agree with you. It would take 800-900 hp to run road gear here , and you still might snuff at the end.

Can you make a 7 1/2 for a 4020?

I agree with you. I don't think it is that easy to get 850-975 out of a 466 at 3000 rpm's.

NO. Think of actual field applications. Plow gear was 5 mph , maybe 6 mph. If you have a 466 and inline pump you could get 250-300 hp without too much work(not stock anymore). Five to six mph doesn't do much too please a crowd.

Will it hurt as much as it helps?? Cool air is good but what about restriction?? I run Deere and most say to run a marine intercooler gutted out. Stock intercoolers are cheap and easy to come by but I am led to believe they won't help much.

Why would you build a 525 then de-tune it? You comments make no sense.Sounds like you are trying to push a rope.
Is there a difference you ask?? --there is no replacement for displacement. But then again a perfectly set up 466 can beat a bigger cube that isn't "tweaked" right.
There is always a lot of fine tuning-we are still learning.

Still running front pump. Most of the time we pull 3000 rpm but there seems to be more open farm lately.

Has anyone had trouble with their transmission oil pump in a 4020? Last year we cracked a gear , this year just cracked the same gear. How many rpm's will this pump handle or do we have other problems? I suppose we were running 3500-3600 rpm's. I know others that run harder than that and too my knowledge haven't had any trouble. THANKS

Do you have two tracks??? That looks like a late night , we would like to come down once , but it would be a 2.5-3.0 hr drive . Those 3:00-4:00 am mornings aren't that appealing anymore.

I know this has been talked about before. Can a 466 deere run ok on 12-1 or 13-1 compression? Repalcing the original head with a 55 series. Have been told need to change pistons. We are just running farm stock or cheater farm stock as my neighbor calls it. We don't have any turbo limits. Thanks

I am curious how you enforce your speed limits , especially a 16 mph class.

Ok , trying to learn , if both pumps are run at 3000 rpm and set at say - 600 cc - does the p-pump still have an advantage???

Well I was planning to come early to Tipton for the farm stock , how about we run those classes at 7:00??? Is the e-mail good enough or do I still need to call??? I thought the altered farm tractors are running at Marion , are you allowing them to pull farm stock???
