We are running stock lines and injectors, our pump will max out at 450. Just don't want to tear anything up. We are new to this game. We have pulled antiques for years but wanted to try some farm stock pulling. Just trying to decide if I need to upgrade lines and injectors or try it with these first.

How much fuel can stock lines and injectors from a 4690 case handle before you need to upgrade?

I agree with you that the bigger stronger tractor will still have some advantages even in a speed limited class. I don't know a whole lot about the deeres, but if you are pulling mostly stock tractors wouldn't the 6030 have to do some excessive stripping to get to a 4020's stock wieght. I'm not trying to argue with you here, just trying to make conversation. I like what yo

I understand not wanting a speed limit, but it seems like you are making a lot of rules to keep the speed down and let stock tractors have a chance to compete (which I am in favor of). When one rule (speed limit) can do the same thing.

Again not bashing here, but it sounds like to me you want to keep the tractors running under a certain speed, but you don't want to tell anybody. I want you to get something good going at the hoi fair.

not bashing your rules, just saying I have a tractor that will meet every one of the rules you have listed here and it will make an honest 350 hp maybe a little more. If that is what you are looking to get I'm all for it. I'm always looking for new places to pull and this would be close for us.

Central Illinois here. Ours averaged a true over the scale 168 across the board on corn and 46 on beans. I have a hard time believing anybody that farms very much has these upper 200's averages over the whole farm. Maybe a select few areas where there isn't any average to below average dirt. We farm a lot of good black ground, but also have some white timber soil and it drags everyt

I agree with what you are saying. I love the monitor, and when used right it can tell you alot about how the field is doing. Ours is very accurate and will be very close to the elevator scales. It is a very valuable tool for the farmer.

If you just opened the field up where are you coming up with 250+. bpa. I am a farmer and I have a monitor in the combine that will hit 250 and more, but when the field is all done the average will be lower than that. I love when you go to the coffee shop and someone picks the biggest number that the yield monitor said and they say thats what the corn is making. Show me some scale tickets is

Sorry for you loss, we have a medium sized family farm here in IL and we spend a lot of time around these machines. My kids also spend a lot of time out there with us and it scares me to death. It is work in itself just to keep an eye on them, but they love spending time with me and Grandpa out there.

I never said I thought the crop insurance was a bad thing, and the reason I buy it is incase I need it. I believe that federal crop insurance is a good thing and I'm glad it has helped those who need it. I don't believe for one second that the insurance companies that offer it havn't had some benifit from it also. Yes there are those that abuse it, but many more need it. I&

The insurance company is who benifits from the government paying part of the premium for the crop insurance. I've bought the insure for 10 straight years and never collected. Even with this horrible drought I still don't believe I will collect much if any.

Have to disagree with some on this thread. We have n 06 cummins and an 07 classic duramax. To be honest we like both trucks, but the GMC is a much nicer truck. We like the cummins engine, but the duramax is quiter, smoother, and will out pull the cummins. The rest of the truck isn't even a contest. The GMC is hands down a better quality truck than the dodge.

i didn't bash anybody, I've priced a machine for cutting tires, and it doesn't pencil out if you are just cutting your own tires.

Just because the group of farmers where you eat breakfast and lunch are that way doesn't mean we are all like that.

I've not had a 1250, but I have had a 1220 and a kinze. The 1220 is a far better planter. The 1250 looks like it would be a great planter. When we get a new planter that will be our next purchase.

Having had both, in my opinion the kinze planter isn't half the planter that the Case IH is. You must have had a bad one. The Kinze is a good planter, but the case IH is better.
