Some older sled the operator operates everything from the seat. The newer sled are tripped by switchs. The pan dropping in different places could result from the different speeds the tractors are going. For ex it would apear that a slow tractor would have the pan dropping earlier. A tractor going faster could make it look like it's not dropping till say 4 foot further. It has to do with the

You will need a flywheel off a 312. This would be the same enginge you need the back plate off of. The 666a has ame size flywheel as a 460
