I always use the steel gaskets for a truck, never had any problem with those....the stock fiber ones that you get through Case-IH don't last very well at all.......

I have no problem with gas and diesel prices going up, if our wages went up accordingly.....not everyone who pulls or is a spectator has a job that accomodates rising fuel costs......

Depending on how hard it was burnt, make sure you check and thoroughly clean all the oil passages....if it is burnt hard, the oil will turn into a plastic-like substance that plugs up the oil passages.....

We had trouble with the diesel starter not having enough to turn over, we used a Bosch reverser motor off of a Case-IH combine, and had a drive made for it to accomodate the diesel ring gear....bolted right in, looked good & worked very well....

I think most are using the 414 crank, so they can have a larger bore, to allow for larger valves in the head, etc....

That engine will have the large lifters. All the 466 cranks will enterchange, the only difference is the bearing width (later ones having wider bearings), which is no big deal, as you can put the narrow width bearings on a wider journal crank with no problems....

Stay away from Generac models.....they are nothing but trouble, and if it dies within the warranty period, they'll take a year to fix it.....I would suggest a Honda...that's what we went to after our Generac burnt up....ran extremely quiet, and VERY fuel efficient....nice units.....

With that setup, you could probably get by with 8 weights on each finger....since youre only turning 4000 rpms, you could put 10 weights on each finger, and then you'd hold for sure.....

First off, what have you done with your countershaft? The first steps are to either get a solid one, or to press a shaft inside of the original one to stiffen it up, and to add a bearing support on the shaft. If you have done both of these things, and still pop out of gear, you can put locks on the shift forks.....simply weld a piece of stock on the side of the fork, and drill holes in the side
