What you got to offer? Im banking since I have the engine, I can build this cheaper than buying. Ive done 2 of these before, but both have had turbos. Plus, to me, putting it together is half the fun. Calling around and finding parts and talking to people is a great way to meet some people. If you have something that might interest me my email is always open. Thanks

Well I believe im going to go ahead and build this tractor. I would like to think it should be competitve. If nothing else it'll get me back to pulling with some great guys in my area. I know just south of me a little, there are a couple pretty dang good running RD's. And i hear of a "big one" being built. If nothing else, I think it'll be neat to see some smoke. Thanks guys

I was in no way trying to bash what you want to do. Im just throwing some stuff your way because we have been through this exact same thing. Some troubles with what you want as rules are going to give you fits. Examples: Many D-21's and such tractors were used as "tug" tractors. That means no 3pt or pto's. IH tractors, the pto's were an option. I know of 2 1066's in my

I dont understand the problem. Make the classes run 6mph and it doesnt matter what turbo, what pump, or anything else they want to do. The big dogs cant and wont run these classes. And if the do, the are no longer competitive. It has worked for antiques for years. Just ask youself', if you have ever been in a drivers meeting, who wants to up the speed limit? Thats right.....the ones

Im talking about antique tractors pulling 8mph, not alky's running full bore. Im just asking about if they would be competitive against the RD's running gas.

Im thinking about putting a D-466 in a 560 to run against all the RD-501s around me. Start off...they do allow this combo. Now do you guys think a non turbo 466 would run with 8mph RD-501s? I know to much fuel would kill it, so kinda got that one figured out. I know that I need the higher compression pistons. Im just wondering if all is right in the motor set up if the diesel torque would ou

I was hoping for a result similar to a cam with a big lift. I know centerline and duration won't change, just hoping for maybe a better cylinder fill and a little better breathing. I know they "in theory" will help. Just never done this on a diesel before. Several Farmall M's and 560's. Thanks for the response.

Can you put extended rocker arms on a DT-466 IH engine without doing anything to the pistons? Are they relieved enough from the factory or do i need to do more. It has a stock cam and stock pistons. If they will work, are the worth the swap? Who has the best ones for the best price? Thanks for the help.

Can anybody help me find some pictures of a 1066 that was pulled and owned by John Hedges. It was a NTPA tractor. It won a couple of Grand National events. This would have been around 1973ish and 1974ish. It was located in central Indiana. Dad did the wrenching on this tractor and I would like to have some pictures of it. Also any pictures of a D-21 that Duane Cates pulled from Indiana. I wou

Don and Darlene are some of the nicest people to deal with. The products they offer are as good as they get. I have had a prosock and a 30 cube that used their parts. I hear that they are big into the v-twins now.

I understand safety. I honetly dont mind them being on my tractor. The response is what im worried about. Until we change the "aura" of things being stock, you know as well as i do that this is going to cause trouble. You can hear it already...you must be too hot to run with us. The air shut off is what im really struggling with. If saftey is an issue with the "pure farm stock" go back t

I attended a pull this weekend that had some interesting new rules for 2014. For the pure farm stock classes you will have to have a "kill switch {air shut off} and wheelie bars" to pull next year. Is this something all or most pulls will require? I can see me rolling in some where and being told I can't pull because if you have that "stuff" you aren't stock. Does anybody else see t

These rules always get a chuckle out of me. Been pulling for years and this is so full of sh+%. What stock farm tractor comes from factory with a RPM plug on them? But yet the have to have pto and hitch and hydralics. I guess if I had a factory "standard" tractor i couldnt pull. I can name many tractors that had straight drawbars, no pto's, "which by the way was an option when bought",

I went to NATPA's web site and read the rules for DIV 4 and 5. If you read the Div 4 rule number 10 it lays out what can be used for that DIV. Now go to DIV 5 number 10, it says nothing to the sort. It talks about it must be the same number of cylinders, and same lentgh. It must be same brand as original. Are the RD 501's longer than say the c 301? If so could it be milled down t

Hell come to Indiana, that fits about 75% of our farm stock class. There are some awful "big" farm tractors around here. Thats why we have to keep speed limits on those classes.

Are there going to be any larger farm stock classes at this June 1st pull this year? Rumor has it that it is only antiques. That would be such a shame. That is a good pull to go to.

IH made some 15"x10" wide 8 hole wheels. I have a set that i have mounted 9.5Lx15's on. They look really good that way. Best way to find them is to look in tractor grave yard. My best luck finding them has been on the 56 series tractors. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help Guys. I think you've pointed me in the right direction. As soon as my "ship" comes in I'll try to fix it. I would love to find a 15mm rotary pump. I just like to keep it looking as factory as possible. Just a preferance. Im allowed an inline, and probably the cheaper way to go. You guys are a great source of info. Thanks! Donnie

I have all Schied stuff. Used, but in good shape. 13mm pump, .120 lines, and 5x.018 injectors. Hyper 00 cam. Running through 886 rear end. Running water on it as well. I may try to find some 5x.020 or .022 injectors. Finding quite a few double feeds but not many singles. Would doubles work? I may send my back to schied and have it up dated to a 15mm. May find an A or P as cheap or cheap

Can someone help or point me in the direction of where to purchase a new or used GT42 turbo for a IH466. Running a 13 MM rotary and 5x.018 injectors. Running water. I seen in previous post that {maybe} for a motor like mine, they were using a GT42 with a 101 or 115 ex housing. Does this seem about right? Where is the best place to buy such a critter? Does the exhaust side use the factory st
