I can only say what I know about mini-rods. we are getting as much power from 6-71 small blocks now , as a big block put out 20 years ago. The technology has come a long way! Plus we will hook it 35 times a year with no major issues!

Has anyone used the newer 6.2 engine in towing? I agree with most of the 6.0 comments. My buddy had one and we were sure it had something to do when you plugged the trailer lights in! It didn't matter weather it was a little utility trailer , or a 24 ft enclosed, mileage went in the crapper. Had the power, we don't pull a lot of hills though.

Dad was on the 1st directors board from WIS when the NTPA was formed. Pulled everything on the farm back in the 60's.He ran a 180 allis on the NTPA circuit and won Farmfest USA in Mankato, in the 5000 pound class. That was in '72. Then h

like LLSS said. I had a straight 6 Pontiac in a mini, and the converter, flex plate bolts would always work their loose. put a good fluid damper on it and NEVER had that problem again!! I was very happy!

Also, for pullers coming from the east of Chicago. I-90 is under construction from Elgin IL. to Rockford IL. They are completely rebuilding it in to 3-lanes. Still have 2 lanes both directions, but is tight and has 45mph speed limit. It also goes down to one lane just west of Belvidere for the west bound traffic, and does get backed up fro 3till 6 rush hrs. May want to take I-88 to I-39 to avoid

history on the tractor is ,my dad purchased the tractor from Noble Harrison in so. ill. It was run by Don Mkinnon in 1971. when we got it, it had a To4 turbo on it, blew 3 of those. then we put a T06 on it and she really took off!! Also took Armstong 18.4 38 tires off 4010 jd we had on the farm and cut them down. tractor then went on a streak!! Back in the day all of the state asciastions
