its all how you look at it. I know a lot of guys whom are going away from red because of terrible dealer support and sub par equipment. We really cant judge peoples business decisions until we stand in their shoes for a while. I may not agree with all of deeres decisions, but can see why they do what they do in some ways.

I know nothing about red tractors, but I am trying to help out a friend. is their a dt 466 truck engine we could put in his 1466 that we could still run the model 100 pump on? or could we go with a DT 530 or 570. any info would help out a lot thanks.

I don't like red tractors, especially a 460 sheetmetal set up but I will have to admit the tractor is pretty impressive.

I personally go with a 4010 or 4020 you can always add weight. Go with a pro fab trans for a durable easy to change set up and have fun. I wish i would have done that right from the get go. But thats hind sight.

From what i have been told a good good super farm BSTP set up is around 1250 hp, so 1000 to 1150 hp is way off base.

the gears in the 5020 are a little slower than the 6030. I am thinking tha t the 5020 8th is still faster than the 6030 7.5 . Anyway the only gears you can change on the stock shaft set up would be 3-5 and 6-8 gears and from expiernce it is a lot of work, and the largest you can go is about 7% over stock 8th just because you ron out of swinging room. the saft size for the clutch i dont know

the only way to tell the difference between a 531 and a 619 are the numbers behind the starter and the size of the turbo to after cooler hole in the intake manifold. but whos to say they are not running the smaller set up on the 619? Everything else can be made to look like the 531 set up.
