IH 400 series piston coolers September 11, 2011 12:07PM
Can the piston cooling nozzles be removed from a 400 series IH block main bearing casting and can they be installed in a non turbo 400 series block that has the oil ports currently blocked with a small ball bearing from the factory. I have tried and can remove the ball plug with a long pin punch from the bearing side but have never tried to get the cooling nozzles out of a turbo style engine block. The nozzles are not available as a part from IH.
If this is not possible, I have a block from a 966 for sale.
