Yes, they do and they do very good work. They also have an Alky SS. |

I have a 9600 ford in the process of wanting to build to play with in farm stock or maybe hotfarm/pro-field what direction would be the best to go in. |

Rules such as Cubes, turbo size, pump size, and most importantly- your budget will determine which way to go. If you have too much HP that dual power will have to go and be replaced with a solid shaft. Get rid of that 401 or at least the 401 head for sure. 456 head or 474 head are much better. Again, money will determine where you need to go. Jason Cory, or Curt Forrester will be your best source of info and parts starting out especially if you are in the East. |

Look on the sale site bluefan, there is a pump and charge for a hot farm tractor for sale. |

The farm stock rules around here are stock block and pukp for the make and model tractor factory rated high rpm's, M&W turbo's and oil pans o.k. pro field and hot farm 470 cubic inch, steel fly wheel' diesel only water injection optional 2 1/2 turbo inlet close to the fan no slugs or modification to inlet housing Map enhacements allowed. 3000rpms pump must match make and model tractor |

to blue fan . Building same thing. want to build with the 474 motor (harder to mount, cheaper motor ?)maybe go to big cube inch later. 456's run well can make up to 540 cubes. ideas welcome. class A-pump, water, 3x3,open rpm, open cubes. thanks |

How hard is it to find one of the 474 without having to buy the whole truck. Have heard that it is not worth the trouble unless you are going to run higher rpms, also they say the 401,456, work real well in tne lower rpm level. What kind of power can you make with the 401 with a genesis head, 9.5 or 11mm simms pump and a good charger in a 3000 or lower rpm class. |

That depends, which direction to the nearest John Deeere dealership? That is where you should be going! lol |

Sorry I'll take a Ford over a Deere on the farm or track any day of the week. |
Re: forrester's

You should be sorry! Half of their crap is made in Mexico or England. What track are they any good on? They can't compete in Prostock, Diesel Superstock, or Unlimited Superstock. The only place they do well is somewhere that the rules are catered to them. Such as mod turbo or as an alcohol superstock running with diesels. |

Hey your right, but put them against a JD or anything else at equal cubic inch displacment and they will win their share of pulls |

Must say you do have an odd sense of humour! John deer was having tractors built by no other then Zetor and I personally despise those 5000 series JD,s built where?? LOL |

What kinda of power can you make with 401 cubic inch ford running around 3000rpms with a beefed up stock pump. |

That's a tough question? the usual mantra for making horsepower is increase the rpm or the cubic in. if 401 is your limit then maybe get your pump pushed up to say 600cc or so (wimers) in NY. state may be able to help you with that. All said at 3000 rpm, no water- maybe between 300-400hp? or I might be wildly optimistic on that one next question. Jim |

what cubes can a 401 be pushed to and still be reliable, what is the biggest plunger you can put in a simms, I see alot of 9.5mm for sale can you go any bigger. I have heard the 456 head will bring 401 to life. |
