what all has to be done to put the 20 ring and pinion in?

Re: ring and pinion December 04, 2011 02:22PM
I have done several of these. The 4020 shaft is longer so you have to make it shorter and also it has to be machined to a smaller diameter where the back bearing fits. Also on the ones I did, the splines had to be extended back a little. The grooves for the snap rings are also not in the right spot so new grooves need machined in the shaft.

I could probably do yours but I am a little backed up right now. I am building 5 whole three speed transmissions for small blocks and a couple whole three speed transmissions for big blocks. I also have a full time job so time is a little tight. If you want to talk about this my phone number is 330 5374203 and my e-mail is jimpol@embarqmail.com.
