Converting Crower clutch to springs?

I'm told there are companies that can take a Crower clutch setup and modify it so that it has springs to assist the holding friction like a conventional clutch. What is this procedure called, and who out there can do it?
Thanks, Arthur |

You would have to replace the pressure plate assembly only. Crower and Molinari both build the spring loaded pressure plate assy. and i'm pretty sure they do interchange with each other.
Jim, You could add more weight to the clutch levers, but the clutch will still slip if the RPMs fall to low. With the spring loaded pressure plate it will stall the engine before it begins to slip the clutch. |

Arthur,
Rusch has them. Adjustable spring baking plate, much easier to use slipper in 3000rpm, also helpfull in pits and loading. |

Atlas tractor has done a few of them but its a better idea to sell your glide cover and use that money for a new pedal cover. Karl would probably even let you trade it in for money off a new one |

Karls Combination clutch is awesome! You can run it in any class it gives you more options and will last alot longer. We don't adjust the clutch as much and can slip it out of the hole more if we need to, or can come out at a lower rpm if needed. We have had one for 4 years and would not think of anything else. With the adjustable spring you can tighten up on power tracks or soften them for loose tracks and slip it more. Another thing that is nice it's a one time deal you can run it in a super farm and jump it to a super stock or pro stock and have no need to change clutch. |
