Steering January 17, 2012 09:30AM
I am trying to get rid of mt old rack and pinion set up and exploring different options. Does anyone have a lead on a non powered hydraulic steering setup? Would a marine helm pump and cylinder have enough power to turn the wheels? Any options other than the above?

Thanks
Mike

There is almost the same Identical cylinder for $100 less. Try that.

i already have the cylinder, is the helm pump what i need to run it? also does the helm pump run off the batteries? and is e bay the place to get the pump? thanks

Myself, I would use a snowplow pump or tailgate lift pump. Runs off a 12V battery.
