Alum or Steel January 11, 2009 06:07PM
What would be the best for a diesel super stock head Aluminum or Steel I know Indy builds some Alum Heads. How do they hold up or does steel work better? Looking for any info Thanks

ALUM BILLET IS THE STANDARD FOR AFTERMARKET BUILDERS. STEEL MIGHT BE BEST FOR THE HOME SHOP BUILDER, HARDER TO WORK ON, BUT STRONG AND MORE FORGIVING IF YOU GET THIN IN AN AREA. THERE ARE STARTING TO BE SOME EARLY MODEL BILLET ALUM HEADS SHOWING UP USED OCCASSIONALLY, AS REASONABLE PRICES, COMPARED TO THE LATEST AND GREATEST.
COST OF THE HEADS ARE LIKE THE BILLET PUMPS AND BILLET CHARGERS, SPEED COSTS, HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO GO
