We used 5- 2 x 4 x 3/16" box for the stringers and tied them together with 3" x 3/16" angle iron every 2'. The deck is heavy expanded metal tacked into place. We were careful to put it on the right way so it has good bite to it even when it's wet. It's kind of heavy- I calculated that it's just under 1000#, but a single 2" cylinder lifts it just fine. They are very handy- best of luck!!

solid rod, and sections of pipe are often used to make the hinge. just remember to keep tolerances loose enough to keep moving if it gets dirty and or grease zerks tapped into the pipe are a nice touch.

i have seen where 1' sections of pipe are welded to the door with 6" gaps or so between them, then at those gaps the rod was welded to the trailer frame.

Anyone look into aluminum ramps? Looking at bringing the ramps inside the doors.

You mean like the Landsport Aluminum ramps that are advertised every month in the Puller magazine with a web site of;
www.landsport.com
Something like that?

I bought a real nice set from discount ramps.com 12 foot 16 inch wide about 1100 bucks. they hook on an angle iron bolted to the back of the trailer. They weigh about 100 pounds each. Really nice and fast.

Those are the ones. Anyone deal with them before?
