Farmall 560 final ratio? February 23, 2012 10:50AM
Does anyone know off the top of their head what the final ratio of a Farmall 560 in 5th gear is and also what it changes to if the ring and pinion is switched to one from a 400? Thanks for the help!! I know this topic was covered in the past but I couldn't find it using the search method.

18 to 1 with the 560 ring /pinion. Not sure of final ratio on 400 ring/pinion but the ratio of the ring/pinion on the 560 is 3.26 and on the 400 is 2.63 so maybe someone smarter than I might be able to firgue it out. I have a 400 ring/pinion in my 560 but don't remember the ratio but it is fast. My guess is around 14 or 15 - 1.

Final drive ratio on a 400 is 14.78.
