HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 24, 2012 01:38PM
Alright here we go I want to know whay you guys think? 466, 3x4 turbo, smooth cover, open rpms, p pump, water injection,

Which turbo is going to do better? not just HP numbers Torque numbers??

HX 60 with a Harts Wheel Vs. Percision 3x3

How much HP and torque difference are we talking?

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 24, 2012 01:46PM
why would you want the 3x3 and i heard the billet harts wheel has to be changed every 5 to 6 runs

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 24, 2012 02:04PM
Because I own a 3x3 persicion right now.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 24, 2012 02:58PM
Precision turbos are aaaaawwwweeeesssooommmeee!!!

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 24, 2012 03:19PM
Heard precision is coming out with a new 3x3.6 and not with piece of crap clipped wheel. Might be something to check into. One thing nice about the ball bearing is they tuff as nails. Just saying.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 24, 2012 03:49PM
I see many turbos that only make a few passes then are tore up. A cheap filter setup easily and cheaply protects high priced turbos and other components. Pullers always tell me how much power i lost by filter restriction. I think the 20 hp I lose is the exchange. Just take a look at what falls out of
the filters when they are dropped on the trailer deck when we load the tractor for the trip home

Precision turbo's are awesome?? You need to talk to the guys in Wisconson that run the 466 class. Precision makes about 8 runs before the compressor wheel is streached to the point of blowing it up and DESTROYING the charger. No parts are available. You have to send the charger in to get it fixed. They will not allow you to have a spare wheel and cover. An HX 60 3 X 4 (3 X 3.6 actually) is a better, tougher turbo. You can get a spare compressor wheel and a spare cover also if you want to. If you own a Precision, make a few runs til you blow it, then buy a HX 60.

As far as the WI 466 class do you mean BS? Or that northern club? Are they harder on a charger than a SF? What do they do to smoke precision. I do not know everything, but was under the impression they were the best and toughest turbo out there. Don't most ntpa sf tractors run them?

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 26, 2012 11:56AM
yep that's exactly right. precision is very hard to deal with, and if you modify ANYTHING they will keep it and send you something they approve of.
on the dyno the hx60 was better by quite a bit , tourque numbers were a little higher also. do what you want, but i would stay away

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 25, 2012 01:58AM
Just to clear things up Horsepower and Torque are not mutually exclusive, meaning Turbo A won't make 1000HP and 1750Ft/Lbs. of Torque at 3000 RPM, while Turbo B makes 1000HP but 1900Ft.Lbs of Torque at 3000 RPM. That's just not the way the math works.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 25, 2012 03:11AM
so no one is really gonna answer original question.hx60 vs 3x3 precision. what were top super farms running at nfms. what r the true numbers? whats the difference in $$$?

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 25, 2012 03:26AM
Dude, your talking about 2 totally different classes. 466,3x4 charger class is not going to run the same turbo as the super farms from nfms

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 25, 2012 03:36AM
so why does the heading say 3x3? genius. anyway these r my questions! sorry to upset u

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 25, 2012 05:06AM
listen up jerk the original question by othergreen was 3x4 hx60 vs 3x3 persicion. why should i spend all MY money at the dyno and give you my numbers? do you have my cam? bore? stroke? pump? my numbers dont mean dick to you. usually im nice but your attitude pisses me off. i dont owe you nothing. maybe if you were nice id tell ya but i aint gunna when you demand answers.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 25, 2012 03:45AM
I think the point was the rules for his intended class are 466, 3x4 charger. He currently has a Precision 3x3 turbo, and was wondering if it would outperform an HX 60 (which presumably has the larger exhaust exducer dimension).

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 26, 2012 01:40AM
I was always told that the HX 60 wont make tourqe numbers like a 3x3 persicion will. Just my 2 cents

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 26, 2012 09:26AM
I'd say the 3x3 would stay lit a lot better too. They run the 3x3 on SF which has more cubic inches, and still sometimes some guys will chirp them out. Definitely don't think it'd be too restrictive on the exhaust side.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 26, 2012 10:11AM
Going against the grain, but I would say an HX-60 would be better.

3" exhaust is not enough for 3" intake. 3x3.6 HX-60 would beat a precision 3x3.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 26, 2012 10:32AM
No comparison a good 60 will walk all over a precision 3x3 on torque and horsepower on a good 466

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 27, 2012 12:50AM
here is what i have dynoed, a good 3by3 precision 466 on a decent motor will make 950 hp , some will stay lit and hang in others will chirp out, depends on your combination. an hx 60, stock 3.inch holset wheel will make a little more but not much, add a billet wheel, a good one now you have 100 hp more depending on the engine again maybe even more. but it happens at a higher rpm but will normally hang in as good as a 3 by 3. have seen 3 by 4 s get into the 1100s and higher with an intercooler , as far as breakage havent seen a problem with either one as long as YOUR combination is correct. my suggestion is to head to the dyno and see what one suits you best.

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 27, 2012 02:15AM
was on dyno last week, ran one of those modified percisions 3x3.35 and a hx60 3x3.6 with about the same mods on a open rpm 466, hx60 made 55 more hp and 92 more foot lbs of torque,,,,, hx60 hands down

Re: HX 60 vs. Persicion 3X3 February 27, 2012 10:09AM
I think a Columbus HX-60 is a tick cheaper than a Precision also.
