Have a common rail 8.1 motor I'm planning on installing in my Jd 4430. I pull farm stock 3000 rpm no turbo limit, have a 500cc A pump. Question is what 55 series head is the best to run in this application. I've heard there are different part numbers etc. also heard there were a bad batch of 8.1 liter cranks. What engine numbers were to be updated and/or crank numbers. Thanks for help in advance |

All of the cranks should have been updated during the Product Improvement Program.. unless the machine was scrapped within a the first 1 year.. (Most were done before the machines were a year old.. many were fixed before they had a few hrs on them..)
You could run an earlier 8.1L head or the 55 head.. (either would work for Farm stock.) Most are wanting the R86427 55 Series head.. There have been a few on the sale page.. (I know Aaron Esker had 2 listed a few weeks ago, one 8.1L and one 55 head.) Bryan |

I got the good 55 series head for sale. Ported polished with valves in it. 608-778-4424 |
