has any one done this. its 4.5 bore. what is pin diameter .and compression hight .

They have 1.625" pins, the compression hight isn't quite right though, they come about .040 short of the deck surface which will lower your compression a little bit, this has been done a lot though. We ran these pistons a long time, they are a heavy cast piston and won't take a lot of RPMs

Hy Capacity listed them separate at one time, not sure if they still offer them or not. IH listed them as being part of a piston & sleeve set.

I built several of these engines back in the early 90's. We stroked the crank 3/8. we had to lower the inj. to get the spray pattern down and iinto the bowl. They ran great NA or charged. we lowered the comp. on the charged engines. Head gaskets was the next problem.

Fire ring the head and you won't have head gasket issues. As far as finding pistons, call construction salvage yards, the 429 was used in quite a few application, new ones are still available through howard enterprises or endurance power products

Capitol expense, from mo??? If so call Zimmerman's tractor in Versailles I called them a few months ago looking for the pump and injectors the had a block no head. But I'd say the short block would be there..
