hot farm turbo April 18, 2012 11:34AM
Looking at turbos rules are One turbo charger per tractor-specifications: 3” inlet and 3” outlet MAXIMUM; No
sleeves, no slots. Maximums will be measured at the wheel face. (Inlet and Outlet)-air wheels
must protrude into the inlet and outlet openings.

What is the best turbo for the buck its one of the last things to buy and im low on cash the resr of the motor is a 466 ported polished stock manifolds open rpm p pump please let me know what turbo will work the best for a lowest cost

thanks

Re: hot farm turbo April 19, 2012 02:27AM
So what trim would work with the GT42 in a hot farm 466 tractor?? Lots of choices out there..

Re: hot farm turbo April 19, 2012 05:33AM
yea what setup with the turbo should i run housing and such

Re: hot farm turbo April 19, 2012 09:23AM
I would start with 115 exhaust housing see how it runs. If you are falling under the turbo at the big end put a 101 housing on. On my 466 John Deere hotfarm 115 works the best. Hope this helps.

Why does it seem like tractor guys like gt42s, while almost all truck guys I know use s400s? Durability? Flow characteristics?

Re: hot farm turbo March 31, 2014 06:25AM
I think part of it is the rules.. The GT42 comes with a 3in exhaust wheel and usually a 2.75 or 3 in compressor.. Many of the tractor class have a spec for both.. 3x3.. Most of the truck classes only have a spec for the intake.. S400 can come with many different exhaust wheels..
I think off the shelf.. The GT is a better turbo..
