Arlen Spoo's Lil Nasty 1206 May 29, 2012 02:56PM
Just wondering if anybody had any info on the pics in the posts below of Arlen Spoo's Lil Nasty 1206 from Pawnee City Neb. That tractor began life as an 806 near Rock Valley Iowa driven by Randy Blankespoor of the most recent Gale Force super farm and now 1066 heavy diesel super fame. He campaigned it in the now defunct Tri-State tractor pulling association of Northwest Iowa, Southwest Minnesota, and Southeast South Dakota. It's name fit well it was one of the most rotten, mean, and nastiests little 806s you ever did see. From the 6,000lb pro-stock(Kind of a forerunner of the super farm class) all the way up to 11,500, come one come all that 806 would take em all on. Lil Nasty also had a brother, a 3688 called Survivor which is now The Beast of Troy Murra "May he rest in Peace, We'll miss you this summer buddy". Survivor was the inspiration for the Scrap Iron Express 3688 my brother, father and I campaign with the Great Plains Tractor Pullers. Boy back in the day when I was younger, I never was little, it didn't get any better than Survivor and come H e double sippy straws or high water I was going to pull a 3688 some day. Anyways enough about me just wondering if anybody knows Arlen Spoo, or if that tractor is still around, where it pulled, who has it and maybe if they are willing to sell it. Also on a side note just curious about the 3688 behind Lil Nasty on the trailer in that picture below. Thanks in advance for any info anybody might have.

Arlen Spoo is from Frankfort, Kansas, farms alot of acres in good sized area. The Spoo's also have quite a collection of IH tractors. I remember when he pelled farm stock with an a--rippen 1256 in or around 1980ish. Give him a call, I see him once in a while at the caseih dealer. Darin

Never met Arlen in person, but I have also heard the Spoo Brothers from Kansas have quite the IH tractor collection. He called the dealership one day, pricing some parts for one of his 1206's.

I too would like to see if anyone has any pictures of his Lil Nasty 1206.

Arlen still pulls at local farm pulls where they let him! Most places told him not to come back. Arlen still knows how to build some HP!

I don't believe the Spoo 1206 was originally was one of Randy's and Albert's. That tractor was brought up to this area in about 84 or 85. It was running originally in out of the field classes. It was here before the Aaron's Dream tractor behind it. Randy and Albert were still running their 2 tractors in the Tri State Pullers. Scott Rohmiller of LeMars bought that 1206 from them and continued to run it in the out of the field classes that were open hp classes. He later sold it to a someone in Nebraska if I remember correctly. The block had a hole in it that was patched up with JB weld and it continued to run strong! It was often wondered what the engine was in the tractor but it was never taken apart in fear of not being able to get it back together as good as it was. The Spoo brothers came up one summer and ran in the area and were great guys to be around. Them and Elmer Haug pulled against each other back in Kansas when Elmer was still pulling farm classes.
The Aaron's Dream tractor was built in rememberance of one of their sons who died as a child. That tractor ran very well and I believe it was built around 1986 or 87. I never heard much more out of them after about 1988 or 1989.

Correction:
That tractor may have been one of Albert and Randy's. The 1206 that Scott bought was another one they had in the shed that had been sitting for a few years now that I think about it.

Scott Rohmiller, did he usually wear bib overalls while pulling his 1206? I remember an ol boy that was from up around Sioux City, back when I was a kid, he pulled a 1206, had a narrow front & clamshell fenders on it, usually ran it in an open or Hot Farm class. That 1206, I do know where it ended up. Seen part of the engine, too, and heard all about it.

Here are some photos I found from 1989 when Arlin was pulling with the N-K Prostock association

Lil Nasty photo was from Beatrice NE, and the Aaron's Dream photo was from Wahoo, NE

The last I heard the Lil Nasty 1206 was in a building that burnt and that was many years ago.

I don't know what happen to it after that.
