Re: Arpin WI Truck and Tractor Pull July 12, 2012 06:57AM
Sunday August 5th

Reminder that the pull starts right after the parade. In an effort to complete the pull in a timely matter we are asking that all pullers be registered and ready to pull by 1 p.m. if possible.

For the 12000# and 13000# Hot Farm classes based on the discussion on the pullers that day the speed limit could be raised to 12 mph as some have indicated that they would like a bit faster. If the majority of the pullers in those classes agree then it will be changed that day.

The speed board rule is that you have the until the orange cone (approx at 100 foot mark )to be at or below the speed limit. If you exceed the limit even by 0.1 after that you will be DQ'd . The reason we have decided to use a speed board versus a pace tractor is equal playing field to all and the saftey aspect. In the past the class was wide open but with rising insurnace costs and some close calls the decsion was made a couple years back to go this route.

Thats the way it should be pulled by the rules and stick to them.

Re: Arpin WI Truck and Tractor Pull July 16, 2012 04:15PM
The pull is meant to be good time for all and we are asking that everyone follow the rules for the various classes. The pull officials are volunteering their time to put on this event we are open to suggestions. However you also need to keep in mind that we cannot change the rules on the fly and can't change class rules or weights to please one or two people. The stance of the organization is always been if there is enough interest in having a certain class and weight and time permits then it could be run with 100% payback only on those classes. The organization along with many sponsors does put up a sizeable purse for the weekend to ensure $ for each planned class so it is tough to add additional money at the last minute. The proceeds from this event fund many community area projects throughout the year. Some of these include the park and community improvements, Fire and EMS departments, scholarships for high school students, school supplies for school district, holiday care packages for shut-ins and elderly just to name a few. We ask that you come to have a great day/weekend and help the Arpin area community at the same time raise funds for projects. Thanks in advance and thank you to pulloff.com for the ad space.

Re: Arpin WI Truck and Tractor Pull July 30, 2013 07:18AM
I also love speed, but with lack track width and overall length the insurance company has requested some additional safety considerations to be put in place. I have seen other pulls that have speed limits with speed boards and I can say that Arpin is a good event as they allow the hot farm to run at 10 m.p.h. and you have the first 100 feet to make sure you are under that speed limit.

There was some pullers that have asked to see if one or two of the hot farm classes could maybe be bumped up to 12 - 14 MPH limit and this would be considered if the pullers that are in that class agree that day as the rules are published and it would not be fair at this point to change a speed limit without the pullers input. But safety equipment is a big issue to keep in mind such as shatter blankets, ROP's kill switch and wheelie bar and Helmets.

The weather forecast looks like it will be a nice summer weekend so if you are looking for something a bit different then clay to pull on Arpin WI is the place to check out. Trucks are on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and Tractors are on Sunday starting after the parade about 1 p.m.
