AGCO "High Velocity" 4.1 July 30, 2012 02:31AM
Congrats to Todd Davidson and crew on their 3 Wins in a row with the NE Bush Pullers. 4.1 Limited Pro.

Is he still running a V-8? When it was a White superfarm, that was one of the more popular tractors around, and I think it's safe to say that it still is now. Farmer's Foreplay also ran very strong yesterday. Both beat out some stout competition.

It's the former Hurricane Allis chassis with a 40 Series Detroit.

They are running a Detroit 40 series engine.

Re: AGCO "High Velocity" 4.1 July 31, 2012 01:01PM
ih forever, it ain't no frickin' international, it's a Detroit, Blocks are different, IH, all SAE, Detroit, all metric. If you don't know what you are talkin' about, be quiet. They have their own distinctive look, in case you don't know what that means, THEY LOOK DIFFERENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: AGCO "High Velocity" 4.1 July 31, 2012 02:48PM
the outside is metric. but the guts are all the same as the ih block. the head is a top intake instead of a side intake like the ih head.

Re: AGCO "High Velocity" 4.1 July 31, 2012 03:46PM
He is running an ih head on it i heard.

Re: AGCO "High Velocity" 4.1 August 01, 2012 01:50AM
Mr Difference, the guts are NOT the Same. The main bearing journals are METRIC and LARGER than the IH. Rod bearings are WIDER and LARGER than the IH. Oil enters the block in a different location. Detroit has 2 idler gears, IH one. ALL the bolt holes in the Detroit are Metric. Not as many bolt holes in the pan rails vs IH. All these facts are based on a non electronic motor or manual motor. I do understand that TODAY the motors go down the same assy line and are IDENTICAL.

Re: AGCO "High Velocity" 4.1 August 01, 2012 01:08AM
Hey "know the difference", there was a few Detroit 40 series engines that was the same as the IH 400 series engines, I have one!!! Detroit just put a Detroit 40 series sticker on it!!! if you remove the sticker off of the intake (which is a side intake like the IH ) it even has the IH part number # 1815307c1. Ive used this manifold on my IH block and several other parts!! this Detroit engine was a irrigation engine! So I'm guessing that Detroit just slapped on the stickers on a few engines before that came out with the metric engine!!

thank you bauerle for backing that for i know what i am talking about cause i have seen a metric motor and it was an early version motor. i have nothing against todd and the high velocity team and don't care what they have in it for a motor. i was just stating the facts about the difference in motors. one thing for sure, they're not running a D 21 motor.
