If i was to send my model 100 pump off to get the factory lift pump removed so i could run a belt driven lift pump. What options do i have for a belt driven pump and who sells them. Thanks for any help. |

i've never heard or seen anyone running a lift pump on a model 100, other than whats is already built in the pump itself, for the11mm or 13mm,. The 15mm head in my time was quite expensive and unreliable. so not many ran them. But if i were to run one i would run a electric fuel supply pump. They make electric pumps to supply basically most high cc inlines. A belt driven you stand the chance of the belt falling off, wich then no fuel stuck heads. |

Forget the electric, run the belt drive pump. Fought electric for years, went belt drive problems solved. On the 100 good ones like higher pressures than electric like to pump unless you buy expensive pumps. Belt drive is relatively inexpensive and are trouble free, plus a lot easier to get whatever pressure you want. On my 100 I run about 100lbs pressure down the track, easy with belt drive. Get rid of stock lift pump useless. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/02/2012 02:08PM by Bad Medicine. |

keep your stock supply pump intact, just add an electric pump in the final; filter,, 5 gpm, 80 psi, works great.. |

Go with a belt drive setup my friend just got one from hypermax there inexpensive an cheap insurance also plumb a fuel gauge in there as well an either put it on your dash or put a warning light if the pressure drops below 30 psi .You need to know what psi the supply pump is set at even under full load .The pump from hypermax is a tuthil an is adjustable an mounts right above your main pump.Hopefully this will help you out. |

The tuthill pump they talk about is the 2le. It will handle what you are wanting to do and it has an adjustable internal relief. Your local hydraulic shop should be able to order you one. |

sorry, apparently technology has changed, i guess my electric on my inline is no good. fortnately and hopefully i'll go another 5oo hooks without snapping my 14mm bolt on my idleaer gear because everything doesn't drive off of it. But i'm sure they told you to oversize your bolt. |

You see that whats wrong with people replying nobody said your out dated or was trying to cause you to get upset .We where just saying there is new ways of doing things. But as far as snapping that front bolt on the idler that pretty impossible with the belt driven tuthil off the water pump. Also did u mention to him that he must have a good charging system because on a good hard long pull that ur battery voltage may drop an not supply enough fuel too. There pros an cons to both system but for peace of mind a mechanical pump is better due to the fact if your motor running your pump is running to, also the fuel supply will change with engine rpm an not just a steady constant flow. |

100% correct on everything you stated. |

Reality

It takes very little power to make 100psi of pressure with a hydraulic pump. Look it up do the numbers if it was going to effect your idler gear you think a 12 volt motor with maybe 12gauge wire running to it would work? About less than 1/3 hp for 5gpm (way bigger than necessary) at 100psi |

if any body suggest yu to run your belt driven fuel pump off the water pump pulley there and you are crazy, there is no way hyper would tell some one to do that. jeff at hyper would never say somthing like that. The crank pulley would be correct. |
