SBJD Trans. using PTO gears September 03, 2012 04:07AM
How is a 7.5 or 7.25 achieved using pto gears? Does it require quite a bit of machining? I currently have a stock 4020 rearend. Any help will be appreciated.

U would be better off to sell your trans gears and buy the one that is for sale on the for sale page. By the time u get yours done you would be money ahead and a lot less head ache. The one on there looks like it was done nicely if it hasnt sold yet.

I am the one that did the maching on the one that is for sale on the for sale page. You can pretty much see in the pictures what needs done. You will need 2 sets of the pto gears. This works for a cheap setup but most all the ones that I did eventually go to a full three speed with new shafts. If the owner of the one that is for sale has already sold it, I could machine one for you but it won't be for a month or so when I get a few other things caught up.

How much does a 3spd complete with the shafts run? Just a rough idea.

We are getting $3,500.00 for a three speed if you put it together. A little more if you want me to put it together. This includes 8 gears, top shaft, countershaft, steel front bearing support, clutch shaft and coupler to couple top shaft to clutch shaft. 330 537 4203
