jd 4000, 404 overbore kit December 09, 2012 08:26AM
I have a Jd 4000 with the 404 And the small rear mounted injector pump. The pump is leaking fuel externally not sure of the makeup of the pump if its just o rings that need replacing or what. Also looking for an overbore kit. Do they make such a kit for the 404 that doesn't need to machine the block and if so how big does it go. Thanks in advance, chase.

so i went to my local dealer to see about getting the seal kit for my jd 4000 injector pump" the small roosamaster" he laughed at me said we havent been able to get those for years wth i said. he did give me a number of a fellow in casanovia, ny said he's really good and will do all he can to help you out. my question is is it worth fixing this pump or should i change it out to another style thanks in advance. chase clark

pitch the old charlie brown pump and go with the tall roosamaster pump, change your lines and go on. Those 4000's are kinda rare, you building a puller out of it?

I pretty sure the part # for the line kit is AR69409 then you may use the tall roosa master pump.

we have the Stanadyne kit for the CB in stock. part # 24368. Usually those little pumps just leak everywhere. The sad part is very few parts are available. They weren't a bad little pump.

I bought a complete running 466 motor for the block, including the injection pump and manifolds. I have everything for sale, but the block. If you come up with a block, you could keep your 404 stock, and put together a 466, and keep the 404 so you can restore the 4000 some day. ya im kind of in the air about making a pulling tractor out of it being not many where made its in nice shape just needs freshening up. added pic was our wedding photo. no more crutches just had my hip replaced. rear wheels are from the 4010 but i have all original parts. we pull the 4320 now. maybe another tractor to pull more power.

forget the deere dealer, there are a few dsl shops that can help, may have to look around city dsl in knoxville tn helped with one i had a few years back. Not much but if it is just leaking I would think it could be fixed unless it froze and busted the housing. Remember if you want it badly enough someone can fix it.
