Re: 2012 Great Plains Final Thoughts December 15, 2012 06:28AM
Happy Holidays everybody, first off let me apologize for taking so long to get the rest of the results up. It got put on the back burner with the early harvest, and moving to the acreage I bought, and again I apologize for that. Anyways just wanted to mention one final time the results I put up this year were very very very unofficial, I'm sorry if I didn't catch, your measurement, name, or class. Trying to catch all that info and running my own tractor at the time it was kind of hard to get that all done. I also posted distances regardless whether you got caught going over speed limit or rpms, I wasn't always sure who get caught with what and didn't want to accuse anybody of something they were innocent of. I just wanted to give people out there an idea of what goes on in our little corner of the tractor pulling world. With that being said what a year, what a year, probably the biggest year in Great Plains history, with record entries, hooks, new members, and towns that hosted pulls, wow what a ride. A lot of miles where put on this summer. Many people need to be thanked for making this year another success. A huge thank you goes out to Dennis Beck for taking over as president of the association, what a responibilty, and not a job everybody is getting in line for. Sandy Hybertson, our entry clerk, secretary, treasuerer, announcer, and general all around conflict manager, thank you for everything you do to help make shows run a little smoother. Also thank you to all the girls that helped Sandy with entry clerking this year Kim Dekkers, Pam Shellum, Sharon and Alyssa Hustrulid, Kris Kjose, and many others. Thank you does not cover it, but thank you to the Kjose family for all that you did trying to keep the data logger running. A big thank you to Kim, Jared, and Ross Van Ginkel and to the entire X-Factor crew for what probably felt like a million hours going back and forth back and forth back and forth and trying to keep everybody happy with running a sled. Finally thank you to all the towns that hosted us and the spectators that came out and supported us, on behalf of all the competitors of the GPTPA thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we look forward to seeing you again in 2013. I know we are not a perfect orgainization, but we try our best to put on a decent show.

And now let me indulge myself in my own version of the Great Plains Tractor Pullers awards

When and where are the rules meetings for the upcoming 2013 season. Would love to attend to try and get vehicle built for last 3 years but no one says anything about rules meeting until it is over. Who could a person contact with name and phone number or address?

Re: 2012 Great Plains Final Thoughts December 17, 2012 12:15AM
Saturday January 5 at 11:00 am at the Black Angus Steak House in Canton SD.

FYI... there are plenty of phone numbers on the Great Plains Website where the rules are posted under the "Forms" section
