thinking about a farm stock / tuff farm tractor. i have a 466 block, what head should i look for? i know a 55 series, but what model tractor? also, i was looking at a hx 50 turbo, but not sure if that would be better than one off a 7810 jd. thanks |

466 blocks are ok, 3,000 rpm and 3lm 466 turbo's. i only go to a few fairs. these are the rules for a couple of the farmstock classes. the other pulls i go to are pretty much open. i don't want to build a hot stock tractor because i use this one for making hay and just tinkering around. ( i fix my fuel consumption issue with a stock pump) the hot ones i pull against are 1000 h.p units. it seems like after the 11500 class, they come back down to earth h.p wise. i pull 13500 and 15500 class. i'm not planning on running an electric fan or ice through my factory intercooler, just looking for some idea's. my 404 isn't cutting it. |
