I need information on a good rpm to turn this engine, and if I can achieve 550-600 horse without even cracking the head off to fire ring it. I'm told they are very stout and the factory rotator assy can handle much more. But will the factory head gasket hold the pressure at that horse level?
Th engine is p pumped 12mm with a 67mm single at the moment. |

Don;t turn the motor over 3000 rpm and make sure you don't put more than 30 lbs of boost to it, Otherwise you will crack the head off and o ring it and put a copper head gasket on. Now that is my input for what it is worth. |

Thanks, I was told the motor would hold 50psi as is, I suppose I was misinformed haha. |

N/p. And it probably will, it just wont consistently hold it. If you are try to use a stock head gasket, you'd probably have to replace it every 2 to 3 passes. |

So there's hope of this engine loving 40psi of boost ? I have heard the rumors of overtorquibg the head bolts.... Very little info out there. |

I know that the 312 is NOT a DT 360 BUT my 666 with has been running over 50psi man on almost every pass for 9 years now.. Stock headgasket, stock head bolts, stock NON DT pistons. This is however a AMBAC 100 13mm head and 3500rpm Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/14/2014 12:07PM by gonzo 1066. |
