Disc brakes will save weight and have braking capability with the engine off.

Disc brakes also aren't as touchy or aggressive as the hydraulic ones, however it will cost you around a thousand bucks to put the disc brakes on.

Anyone have any luck using OEM brake valve (modified) to actuate wilwood calipers?

Seeing as how my right brake seemed to be either on or off even after the brake valve has been rebuilt, sounds like it'd be easier to look into converting unless I can figure out the sticking problem. I think its in the brake itself. thanks for the info!

You can build your own kit relatively easy.

Grab a couple wilwood 4 piston calipers (124.99 ea at speedway)
Some brake pads (30-40 bucks)
2 pedals (62 ea at summit)
2 master cylinders (50 bucks each) I used 1" bore I believe
Then the brake line and fittings to hook everything up.

Order some rotors from Ulmer, PPM, Kenny's, Etc.

You can use your original brake seal plate and drill and tap it wherever you want the caliper to sit. (Or there's a nice set made for disc brakes in the for sale section right now for around 200)

You can save quite a bit of money finding these parts on ebay/swap meet/dirtdrivers/ etc. as It's all very common racing equipment.

My experience has been you can buy the kit from Kenny's for around the same money and you don't have to piece mill. I did have to build my own mounts because I put them on a 560. Everything (in the kit I got from Kenny's) for a 1066 works on a 560 except the mounts. Cost run around 800-900 dollars for everthing.
