Does anyone have or make a setup for the 4digit oliver style transmissions? Called precision they said they have never really looked into it |

Depending on your resources. Check out the parts book for multiple models. The brands you are talking about share a lot of the same transmission parts and they had industrial, orchards, blah, blah. And there are a ton of different ratios for those.
If you have time you may be able to pick up what you are looking for on Ebay for $20. I know a couple of guys in the last couple of years that have that jackpot. |

Ok whats the trick to figuring out ratios to mph only thing the parts book gives is tooth count |

There is a trigonometry formula that I can't remember off the top of my head. You may be able to find it on line. Google trig formula for speed and it may come up. If I can find it when I get home I will post it.
Or you can do long hand. There are 5280 feet in one mile. Find the roll out of your tire (for example 210 inches). Convert that to feet by dividing by 12. Then divide that number into 5280. This is the number of revolutions your tire must go to cover 1 mile. Take your answer and multiply it by your desired mph. Divide that by 60 to. Convert to miles per minute. Take your engine rpm and divide it by this number. This will be your desired final ratio to obtain your final drive ratio. From there you will need your ring and pinion ratio and divide that into the final ratio to get what the transmission gear ratio needs to be to get your final. 30.5 roll out est 210 inches. Desired mph is 20. Engine rpm is 3000. Ring and pinion is 5.33. 210/12=17.5. 5280/17.5=301.72. 301.72x20= 6034.4. 6034.4/60=100.57. 3000/100.57=29.830. 29.830/5.33=5.597 So now that should be the transmission ratio you are looking for. You need to divide your range ratio into that number and that will be the actual desired gear ratio. |

I forgot to mention. You can calculate the ratio of the gear by dividing the tooth count of the gears into one another.
For example. Tooth count of 24 and 12 is a 2:1 ratio. You will need to do that for your range gears and the transmission gears. |

Talk to Brad at Maibach Tractor in Ohio he knows olivers like the back of his hand and will know and have what you need Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/20/2015 09:12AM by MH49. |

Brad is great help in this department. As posted before many of these tractors have parts that will interchange. I'm currently running a few 6th gears in my setup for some options. |

Is there room to fit a pro-fab transmission in there? |

The actual transmission section of the rear case is pretty compact. That being said I've never seen a pro fab I'd do like Oliver12v did, run about 3 6th gears and your original. That way you have a nice selection of gears. I was always told that the 2-150 had about the fastest road gear of the whites/oliver/mm |

Oliver12v are you running just diffrent input and pinion gears or do you have to figure out the countershaft gears aswell? Pm me I would like to know more about your set up. |

Ol George, I didn't think there were any options for the smaller oliver/whites ? Was the 1550 utility a faster ring and pinion or speeded up trans ? I have a 2-70 and from what I have been told, dead in the water outside of custom gears and shafts. |

there are 4 different ring geags and pinion |

just call a veteran of these brands that know how to figure all these ratios and then make a bullet proof set for you. Coupled with his ingenuity of engineering and pulling, namely "Solid Junk", you will do yourself a favor if you phone Ron Perry 574 - 967 - 3291 and see if he will build what you need. |

Ok got my gears from Brad. He mentioned I will take my 2-85 high range gear set (which is the same as a 2-105) and put it where my low range was and put a 2-150 high range set where my OEM high was. Is that correct? Then add a 2-105 6 gear set where my 5 is. |

MikeR,
They are many options without making custom, just have to do a little digging and find the rations you need, you can flip Range gears over to change ratios in other gears. Just have to find the ones you need Eric Prewitt The Prewitt Pulling Team Public Relations for The Pulling Radio Network |

also must have the required horsepower to turn those big gears, some think they have more than reality shows, going fast takes some beans baby. |
