I built one that was pushing 280cc with a GOOD 10MM head and other modifications.

At what cost, and how do you know whether or not your pump has a "good" head? Are there external things that a guy can look for that will tell him that one model 100 is better than another?

If it starts and runs its a GOOD one. Also the difference between a GOOD one and a BAD one is GOOD is nice and shiney and BAD is covered in grease and dirt and throttle linkage won't move.

Well put, bad medicine. Very insightful. Does anyone out there with any intelligence have any input? I've never pulled anything mild enough to run a model 100, but I have heard that there were some model 100s that could push more than others. Curious if anyone out there knew how to identify these so called "special" pumps.

Lol meant as joke, really 10mm is basically stock, you could still Farm with that. A 13mm is what is needed for any pulling, although an 11mm would work for a pure stock, mph class. As for external, you can't tell the difference between them, its all inside the Head.

I have some governor parts that can cut governor response time in about half, helps to maintain extra couple hundred
rpm goind down the track. will not cause to over rev in rpm limited classes.
example, setting governor for 3000 rpm, tractor will ussually go down the track closer to 25-2600 under load.
where faster governor will hold 2800 ish.

If it starts good you do have a good head but inspecting the control sleeve for scoring and checking what it truly puts out for cranking on the test stand is the best way. Some are not machined as well as others

Thanks for the info. I know I have a model 100 sitting on the shelf that came in on a dt-468 roller takeout that I bought once. No idea why it was on there, but thought it might be one of the better ones. All stock 100's had a 10 mm head on them? Or would this pump have a factory 11 mm head possibly?

Not real sure but no 11mm Factory.

If it helps you , I asked a diesel shop about 11 mm heads , an they said that the 11 mm was never in an ih rotory from the factory. But did say that some old Mack trucks used an 11 mm head in there rotory pumps
