I use red handled aviator snips (made for cutting circles in tin ) red rt. handed, green lft. handed , on larger bores I cut out area between sleeves . |

Years back we did what your wanting to do. We found a bearing cup about the same size we needed and had a sharp edge cut on it. Just took a hammer and taped around on it until it cut through the gasket. |

Build a fixture to do it your self. Take two pieces of plate steel 3/8" thick that are a inch or so wider than head gasket, then drill two 1/4 ' holes on each side close to the edge. bore your 5.360 hole in both plate where it locates over gasket bore. And like HotRod said build you a round circle with the 5.350 O.D. and sharpen it to a cutting edge. Put fixture over head gasket and locate to center, then tap cutter through with hammer. Problem is it would be less expensive to just buy one already done than all this work !!! |

See if you can find someone to water jet the stock gaskets out for you? Not sure of the cost of the stock gaskets + waterjet time cost, but it does a nice job. |
