Sad News, Kent Payne's Brother has Passed away February 13, 2009 05:58AM
I was told that Kent Payne's brother Kevin passed away sometime in the last 24 hours. I haven't got all the details yet, but we would like to pass along our Thoughts & Prayers to Kent & Sandi Payne and the rest of the Payne Family. We are so Sorry for their loss & we are thinking of them.

C. Kevin Payne 51, of Fairmount passed away at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, Ill.

He was born Oct. 9, 1957, in Morton, Ill., to C. Terry and Dixie Wilson Payne. He married Linda Leemon on April 5, 1980, in Hoopeston. She survives, as well as one son, Matt Payne of St. Louis; his mother, Dixie Payne of Danville; three brothers, Kent (Sandy) Payne of Veedersburg, Ind., Keith Payne of Potomac and Kyle Payne of Springfield; a sister, Kathy Jackson of Mayfield, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Kevin worked as a gas journeyman for Ameren IP in Champaign and was a farmer. He was a member of the American Shorthorn Association, the Illinois Shorthorn Association and IBEW Local 51. He enjoyed showing cattle, hunting and farming.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Payne family cemetery in Brocton, Ill. The Rev. Janet Miller and Craig Roller will officiate. Memorials to the American Heart Association.
