Ford 6600 April 02, 2016 02:45PM
I have a line on a good deal for a 6600 ford rear end, I was just wondering if anyone knew the final drive ratio straight through without the transmission, and if it would be too heavy for a 5200 pound single engine modified?

23.76 to 1 I wouldn't recommend a 6600 rearend you would have to install it upside down unless you ran a countershaft transmission. use a 4000 ford rearend its lighter and you don't have to flip the rearend upside down either. 15.75 ratio for that one. It is plenty strong enough too.

If you need a 4000 rear end we just came upon a couple one has no motor two are lightly burnt very little to no damage

Where are they located? And thanks Curt I knew the 5000 spun the opposite direction but I didn't really know anything about the 6600.

What are they asking for them? If the price is right it might be worth the trip from central ky lol

Ford backhoes rearend don't have a transmission housing attached it's just a ppinion shaft that comes out the front of the housing.
