Re: 3688? February 28, 2013 11:08AM
From the way he describes the rods, someone must have put some Viagra in the oil!

Re: 3688? February 28, 2013 01:00PM
Thats funny, I thought the same thing.

Re: 3688? February 28, 2013 01:33PM
You mean the one that was for sale for 12k last week? Mustve won a couple hooks since then!!!

Re: 3688? March 01, 2013 02:30AM
I thought that Red Baron was partedd out

Re: 3688? March 01, 2013 02:37AM
He claims the transmission and rear end are from the red baron. I have no idea I was just checking to see if anyone else knew anything about the machine. Seems sketchy.

Re: 3688? March 01, 2013 02:16AM
We can't get the same story twice. Claims to be the old red baron machine. Things aren't adding up. Viagra has to be a lot more cost effective in "hardoning" rods I would think.

Re: 3688? March 01, 2013 05:44AM
I put my phone number on the ad i typed one word wrong and you guys think you have to make a joke out of it and as for it gaining three thousand dollars i put alot more parts with it you would know this if you would have read my ad for more questions call me 937-217-1294

Re: got a pic? March 01, 2013 12:27PM
Would love to see a picture of it. If its the Red Baron that thing belongs in the Smithsonian

Re: got a pic? March 01, 2013 04:34PM
I saw the unit at their shop at least 6 yrs ago maybe, longer, when purchasing a motor from them---looked long in the tooth, but complete--I believe it was near 6000 lbs bare, but the rear and trans were large housings---as John Paul's dad, Paul Yates, owned Bosey Keys Red Warrior out of Texas, and additionally pulled nationally on the early ATPA circuits, their owning part(s) of the Red Baron would not be unexpected.

Re: got a pic? March 02, 2013 01:10PM
I Think the famous John Burt with the Prostock 3688 "The Bootlegger" out of nebraska ended up with the Red Baron and parted it out. Matt told me one time all he had of that tractor was the turbo setup. The transmission and rear end ended up going in a superfarm in Nebraska and where the rest is I hadnt heard.

Re: got a pic? March 02, 2013 08:00AM
When Hypermax repossed the tractor Ron Headley hauled the tractor to hypermax, than supposedly Hyper sold it to Dennis Goodwin he made the coment it had a steel differential in it so at that time it was tore down for part's from that point on I have no idea where any of it wound up.

Re: got a pic? March 02, 2013 01:22PM
Good to hear all of the Red Baron stories but it seem none are tied to the tractor for sale. Does anyone know these guys or the tractor? Did it ever run? Good or bad? Do they have any tractors that run or just piles of parts? Story has changed on that tractor several times. BUYER BEWARE. Things just dont add up on that thing. Why are they not on here setting everyone straight? He jumped right in to straighten out his hardoned rods. Probably were already straight I guess.........

Re: got a pic? March 03, 2013 11:29AM
Someone knows about this tractor I would think?

Re: got a pic? March 03, 2013 12:29PM
jpy put up a phone number call him I am sure that will get all kinds of info. If someone really had an interest I would think that would be the most logical step.

Re: got a pic? March 03, 2013 01:10PM
Pick up the phone call jpy ask you'r dumb questons! Tractor is about hour east of Cincinnati, get in car ,truck go look at it!
If hadn't comented to parts for the mule and for the antqute. All you jealous rambling would be useless.
We would have it make it a lt pro . would not be abit afaid of it.

Re: 3688? March 03, 2013 12:58PM
I called and visited with him awhile. I was just wondering if any of the things I was told are at all possible, aka the Red Baron information. The tractor has been around a long time the way it sounds and I'm rather new to the pulling world so I wasn't sure if there was any truth to it or not. Sounds awfully cheap to have all these parts on it. Is there any good way without removing the head to see if it's truly a hypermax or not? He said its an early head but it has a hypermax casting number on it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you guys!

If I wasn't 1200 miles away I most definitely would go look. I do not understand the majority of your post?
