From the way he describes the rods, someone must have put some Viagra in the oil! |

He claims the transmission and rear end are from the red baron. I have no idea I was just checking to see if anyone else knew anything about the machine. Seems sketchy. |

We can't get the same story twice. Claims to be the old red baron machine. Things aren't adding up. Viagra has to be a lot more cost effective in "hardoning" rods I would think. |

I saw the unit at their shop at least 6 yrs ago maybe, longer, when purchasing a motor from them---looked long in the tooth, but complete--I believe it was near 6000 lbs bare, but the rear and trans were large housings---as John Paul's dad, Paul Yates, owned Bosey Keys Red Warrior out of Texas, and additionally pulled nationally on the early ATPA circuits, their owning part(s) of the Red Baron would not be unexpected. |

maybe

I Think the famous John Burt with the Prostock 3688 "The Bootlegger" out of nebraska ended up with the Red Baron and parted it out. Matt told me one time all he had of that tractor was the turbo setup. The transmission and rear end ended up going in a superfarm in Nebraska and where the rest is I hadnt heard. |
Re: got a pic?

a little history
|
When Hypermax repossed the tractor Ron Headley hauled the tractor to hypermax, than supposedly Hyper sold it to Dennis Goodwin he made the coment it had a steel differential in it so at that time it was tore down for part's from that point on I have no idea where any of it wound up. |

Buyer Beware
|
Good to hear all of the Red Baron stories but it seem none are tied to the tractor for sale. Does anyone know these guys or the tractor? Did it ever run? Good or bad? Do they have any tractors that run or just piles of parts? Story has changed on that tractor several times. BUYER BEWARE. Things just dont add up on that thing. Why are they not on here setting everyone straight? He jumped right in to straighten out his hardoned rods. Probably were already straight I guess......... |

I called and visited with him awhile. I was just wondering if any of the things I was told are at all possible, aka the Red Baron information. The tractor has been around a long time the way it sounds and I'm rather new to the pulling world so I wasn't sure if there was any truth to it or not. Sounds awfully cheap to have all these parts on it. Is there any good way without removing the head to see if it's truly a hypermax or not? He said its an early head but it has a hypermax casting number on it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you guys! |
